Overview

Campro makes the CNV-750 by lengthening its smallest vertical machining center. X travel is 750 mm (29.5 in) on an 850 × 430 mm (33.4 in x 16.9 in) table, while Y stays at 430 mm (16.9 in) and Z at 480 mm (18.8 in).

The useful way to read this model is against the CNV-550. Both stand on the same 2,240 × 2,670 mm (88 in x 105 in) floor plan and reach the same 2,520 mm (99 in) height. The CNV-750 weighs 3,300 kg (7,245 lb), a little more than the 3,000 kg (6,613 lb) of the CNV-550. For that, a shop gets enough X stroke for two vises or one long part. It gets no more table capacity: the load limit is 300 kg (661 lb) on both, so the longer table is for longer parts, not heavier ones.

The next model up is a different casting. The CNV-850 adds Y travel and a 500 kg (1,102 lb) table load and weighs 5,000 kg (11,023 lb). If the parts are narrow, the CNV-750 covers nearly the same length in a much lighter machine.

Equipment follows the series. An 8,000 rpm BT-40 spindle with a 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP) motor is standard, with 10,000, 12,000 and 15,000 rpm listed as options. The arm type changer holds 20 tools, or 16 in the carrousel option. All three axes rapid at 30 m/min on linear guide ways, and Campro states the Z axis runs without a counter-balance. Power capacity is 15 kVA. As on the CNV-550 page, the inch conversion printed for the spindle nose distance is wrong, so it is quoted in metric only: 100~580 mm.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 750 mm (29.5 in) of X travel in the footprint of the CNV-550: 2,240 × 2,670 mm (88 in x 105 in)
  • 850 × 430 mm (33.4 in x 16.9 in) table takes two vises in a row
  • 30 m/min rapids on X, Y and Z
  • Spindle speed options up to 15,000 rpm
  • At 3,300 kg (7,245 lb), far lighter than the 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) CNV-850

Limitations

  • Table load stays at 300 kg (661 lb), the same as the CNV-550
  • Y travel is only 430 mm (16.9 in); the CNV-850 has 520 mm (20.4 in)
  • Magazine of 20 tools, or 16 with the carrousel
  • T-slots are 14 mm wide, not the 18 mm of the CNV-850, so T-nuts are not interchangeable
06

Best For

Long, narrow parts up to 750 mm (29.5 in) Two-vise setups for first and second operations Light production in aluminium and steel under 300 kg (661 lb) Shops that want more X travel without a larger footprint

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What does the CNV-750 add over the CNV-550?

X travel of 750 mm (29.5 in), where the CNV-550 has 550 mm (21.6 in), and a table of 850 × 430 mm (33.4 in x 16.9 in). It weighs 3,300 kg (7,245 lb) against 3,000 kg (6,613 lb) for the CNV-550. Floor plan, height, Y and Z travels, table load and spindle are unchanged.

02 How much weight can the CNV-750 table take?

The maximum loading weight is 300 kg (661 lb). The table is 850 × 430 mm (33.4 in x 16.9 in) with four 14 mm T-slots at 100 mm pitch. Count the vises or fixture plate against that limit before loading heavy steel blanks.

03 What spindle speeds can the CNV-750 be ordered with?

8,000 rpm is standard. The table lists 10,000, 12,000 and 15,000 rpm as options. The spindle motor is 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP) with a 7/24 taper No.40 and BT-40 tool shank. No torque figures are given on Campro's page.

04 What are the feed and tool change figures for the CNV-750?

Rapid feedrate is 30 / 30 / 30 m/min (1,181.1 / 1,181.1 / 1,181.1 in/min) and the cutting feedrate 10,000 mm/min (393.7 in/min). Tool change takes 2.5 sec tool to tool and 7 sec chip to chip with the arm type changer.
