Overview

The Campro CPV-850B is the smallest box-way vertical machining center in the CPV-B line, with 850 mm (33.4 in) of X travel and 530 mm (20.8 in) in both Y and Z. The table measures 950 × 530 mm (37.4 in x 20.8 in) and carries 800 kg (1,763 lb).

Box ways are the point of the machine. Campro states that all 3 axes run on box ways, with Turcite-B bonded surfaces scraped against cast iron, and the weight shows it: 6,000 kg (13,227 lb) on a 2,700 × 2,428 mm (106 in x 95 in) floor plan. The linear-guide CNV-850 with the same X travel weighs 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) and carries 500 kg (1,102 lb) on its table. The cost of sliding ways is speed. Rapids are 20 m/min on each axis here, against 30 m/min on the CNV-850.

The spindle is a 40-taper belt type unit, which Campro says uses class P4 angular contact ball bearings and comes with an oil cooler as standard. It runs to 8,000 rpm with an 11 / 15 kW (20 HP) motor. An arm type changer holds 24 BT-40 tools and swaps them in 2.5 sec tool to tool, 6 sec chip to chip.

Spindle nose to table distance is 100~630 mm (3.9 in ~ 24.8 in), and the spindle center sits 590 mm (23.2 in) from the column. Services are modest: 20 kVA and 6~8 kg/cm² (85 ~ 113 PSI) of air. Campro's page does not name the control.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Box ways on all 3 axes in a compact frame: 6,000 kg (13,227 lb) on 2,700 × 2,428 mm (106 in x 95 in)
  • Table load of 800 kg (1,763 lb), where the linear-guide CNV-850 is rated 500 kg (1,102 lb)
  • 11 / 15 kW (20 HP) spindle motor on an 8,000 rpm belt type spindle with a standard oil cooler
  • Arm type 24-tool changer at 2.5 sec tool to tool and 6 sec chip to chip
  • Pretensioned class C3 ball screws with direct drive and a backlash free coupling on all three axes, per Campro

Limitations

  • Rapids are 20 m/min on X, Y and Z; the CNV-850 reaches 30 m/min
  • 8,000 rpm is the only spindle speed listed, with no higher-speed option in the table
  • Y travel of 530 mm (20.8 in) equals the table depth, leaving no overtravel for fixtures that overhang
  • Tools are limited to 7 kg (15 lb) and 250 mm (9.8 in) length

Best For

Steel and cast iron parts that fit 850 × 530 × 530 mm of travel Mold bases and die components up to 800 kg (1,763 lb) Heavier cuts in a small footprint, where box ways matter more than rapid speed General 40-taper job work at up to 8,000 rpm

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels and table size of the CPV-850B?

X travel is 850 mm (33.4 in), Y is 530 mm (20.8 in) and Z is 530 mm (20.8 in). The table is 950 × 530 mm (37.4 in x 20.8 in) with 18 mm T-slots, five of them at 100 mm pitch, and the maximum loading weight is 800 kg (1,763 lb).

02 How does the CPV-850B differ from the CNV-850?

Both have 850 mm (33.4 in) of X travel and an 8,000 rpm standard spindle. The CPV-850B uses box ways on 3 axes, weighs 6,000 kg (13,227 lb), carries 800 kg (1,763 lb) and rapids at 20 m/min. The CNV-850 weighs 5,000 kg (11,023 lb), carries 500 kg (1,102 lb) and rapids at 30 m/min.

03 What spindle does the CPV-850B use?

A 7/24 taper No.40 spindle at 8,000 rpm with an 11 / 15 kW (20 HP) motor. Campro describes the standard spindle as belt type with class P4 angular contact ball bearings, and says all machines come standard with a spindle oil cooler.

04 What does the tool changer of the CPV-850B hold?

24 BT-40 tools in an arm type changer, with P-40T (45°) pull studs. A tool can be Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in), or Ø150 mm (Ø5.9 in) with adjacent pockets empty, 250 mm (9.8 in) long and 7 kg (15 lb). Change time is 2.5 sec tool to tool and 6 sec chip to chip.

05 What services does the CPV-850B need?

The power supply is listed as 20 kVA and the air source as 6~8 kg/cm² (85 ~ 113 PSI). The machine stands 2,780 mm (109 in) high and weighs 6,000 kg (13,227 lb). Campro also lists an automatic lubrication unit with pressure failure detection and an oil-coolant separation design.
