AXA VPC 50 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the AXA VPC 50 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from AXA or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The AXA VPC 50 is the SK 50 counterpart of the VPC 40: the same compact gantry with 2,360 x 1,200 x 500 mm (92.9 x 47.2 x 19.7 in) of standard travel, fitted with a spindle of twice the torque. Drive no. 131 delivers 286 Nm and 45 kW at 40% DC from a 4,000 rpm spindle that can be ordered up to 9,000 rpm.

It is aimed at steel plate. Large face mills and insert drills need the taper and the torque more than they need speed, and the tool magazine is laid out for them: 110 mm tool diameter with every pocket full and 180 mm with free neighbours. The magazine has 20 pockets, two fewer than on the SK 40 machine, and extends to 90. A change takes approx. 7 s.

AXA lists one alternative drive, no. 133, with 355 Nm and 56 kW. Anyone wanting more should read the VPC 50 power column of the same data sheet. That variant has 540 Nm and a 12,000 N feed force, where the VPC 50 has 9,000 N.

The options on travel are the same as on the VPC 40. X can be 2,940 mm or 3,400 mm, Y 1,400 mm or 1,600 mm, Z 600 mm, and the table load rises from 1,500 kg to 2,000 kg per table as an optional feature. Rapids are 20/20/20 m/min as standard. AXA describes the tool changer as simple, very robust and stationary, with the magazine protected in the rear part of the machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the difference between the VPC 50 and the VPC 40?

The spindle. The VPC 50 has an SK 50 taper with 286 Nm and 45 kW as standard, 20 tool pockets and a tool change of approx. 7 s. The VPC 40 has SK 40 with 143 Nm and 30 kW, 22 pockets and approx. 6 s. Travels and table sizes are the same.

02 How does the VPC 50 differ from the VPC 50 power?

The VPC 50 power is the heavy-cutting variant, with drive no. 163 (540 Nm, 56 kW), a 12,000 N feed force, 2,300 mm of X travel and a 135 mm minimum distance from table to spindle nose. The VPC 50 has 9,000 N, 2,360 mm and 230 mm.

03 Which tool holders can be used?

SK 50 to DIN 69871 A / DIN 69872 A is standard. BT 50, HSK A100 and C8 are listed as options. Maximum tool length is 400 mm, and AXA's tool management is fixed location coded, so the operator always finds a tool in the same pocket.

04 How heavy can the workpiece be?

The maximum table load is 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) per table, or 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) as an optional feature. The table is 1,100 mm wide as standard and approximately as long as the X travel. AXA designs the open covering for crane loading.
