Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA MCP-20040 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The AWEA MCP-20040 is the longest machine of its width: 20,000 mm (787.4 in) of X travel over a 20,000 x 2,800 mm (787.4 x 110.2 in) table, with 4,400 mm (173.2 in) of Y and 1,400 mm (55.1 in) of Z. No AWEA model in the catalogue lists a longer X stroke.
Only one other AWEA product family reaches 20,000 mm, and it is a very different machine. The LG-20070 is a gantry 7,000 mm (275.6 in) wide in Y with a 20,000 x 6,800 mm (787.4 x 267.7 in) table, an X rapid of 20 m/min (787 ipm) and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z. AWEA publishes P = 0.10 mm positioning accuracy for the LG-20070. So the question for a buyer is rarely which of the two to take. A part that is long and narrow, tall, or in need of side machining points to the MCP. A wide plate or skin panel points to the LG.
What a 20,000 mm stroke changes in daily use is time. At 10 m/min (394 ipm) the bridge needs a while to go from one end to the other, and cutting feed is limited to 1 ~ 10 m/min (39 ~ 394 ipm). Because the magazine rides on the column, at least the tool changes cost no travel.
AWEA names aerospace, automotive and marine work as the purpose of the series, and says key components are made in-house or sourced from Europe and Japan. The spindle is BBT50 with 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 20,000 mm (787.4 in) of X travel, the longest stroke of the 4,400 mm (173.2 in) Y group
- 1,400 mm (55.1 in) of Z where the LG-20070 has 1,000 mm (39.4 in)
- Five-face capability with a standard automatic head changer and two positions ATC system
- Column-mounted magazine avoids X travel for tool changes on a 20,000 mm bed
- Same 3,400 liter coolant tank and 80 kVA requirement as the shorter models of this width
Limitations
- AWEA states no accuracy for this model, while the LG-20070 table gives P = 0.10 mm
- An end-to-end move covers 20,000 mm at 10 m/min (394 ipm), half the X rapid of the LG-20070
- Table width of 2,800 mm (110.2 in) on a 20,000 mm length suits narrow parts only
- Table load, weight and foundation data are not in the published table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
It is the longest of the 4,400 mm (173.2 in) Y group. Two wider machines share its 20,000 mm (787.4 in) X travel: the MCP-20050 with 5,400 mm (212.6 in) of Y and a 20,000 x 3,800 mm (787.4 x 149.6 in) table, and the MCP-20060 with 6,400 mm (252.0 in) of Y and a 20,000 x 4,800 mm (787.4 x 189.0 in) table.
02
Both travel 20,000 mm (787.4 in) in X. The LG-20070 is far wider at 7,000 mm (275.6 in) of Y, moves X at 20 m/min (787 ipm), has 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z and a spindle nose range of 200 ~ 1,200 mm (7.9 ~ 47.2 in). The MCP-20040 has 4,400 mm (173.2 in) of Y, 10 m/min (394 ipm) rapids, 1,400 mm (55.1 in) of Z, a nose range of 800 ~ 2,200 mm (31.5 ~ 86.6 in) and a head changer for side faces.
03
Not according to the table. The MCP-20040 lists a 3,400 liter coolant tank, a 100 liter hydraulic tank and 220 ± 10 % Vac / 80 kVA, which are the figures printed for every length in this width. Chip handling along the bed is not described in the specification table and should be clarified with the maker.
04
The maker says the MCP series was designed for large workpieces in aerospace, automotive and marine industries, and that LCD and semiconductor manufacturers also use it. A 20,000 mm (787.4 in) table that is 2,800 mm (110.2 in) wide fits the long, slender end of that work.
05
A BBT50 gear spindle with a 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) motor. AWEA's table lists it as 4,000 without printing a unit, and names 5,000 / 6,000 gear spindles and 8,000 / 12,000 built-in spindles as options.
