Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Zimmermann FZG27 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Zimmermann FZG27 is a long, flat machine. X travel is 5,000 to 16,000 mm (196.9 to 629.9 in) and Y is 2,000, 2,500, 3,000 or 3,500 mm, but Z is only 500 or 750 mm (19.7 or 29.5 in). That geometry describes its work: panels, plates and other long parts with little height, machined from above by a gantry that travels low alongside the table.
The low gantry leaves the long sides of the table open. Zimmermann stresses the unobstructed side access for the operator and for loading and unloading components. The table itself is 4,000 to 15,000 mm long and 2,000, 2,500 or 3,000 mm wide, with 18H12 T-slots at a 200 mm pitch and a load rating of 1,000 kg/m², max. 10 t. A vacuum table with slotted grid is the listed option, a common way to hold thin sheet and composite panels flat.
X and Y feed at up to 50 m/min and Z at up to 40 m/min, with max. 3 m/s² of acceleration. Those are lower figures than on the FZU27 and FZP27, where X and Y reach up to 60 m/min. Four heads can be fitted: S2, C2, C3 and VH10. The page lists no spindle data for the FZG27, so power and speed depend on the head chosen.
Zimmermann says its extraction technology makes the machine suitable for dry machining and for machining with minimum quantity lubrication. The required space without peripherals is 9,000 to 18,000 mm long, 5,400 to 6,900 mm wide and 3,300 or 3,700 mm high. That is low for a gantry: the FZP27 needs at least 4,360 mm. Accuracy is stated as in accordance to VDI/DGQ 3441 or ISO 230-2.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- X travel of 5,000 to 16,000 mm (196.9 to 629.9 in) for long components
- Unobstructed side access to the machine table for loading and unloading
- Vacuum table with slotted grid available as an option
- Low build: required height of 3,300 or 3,700 mm
- Suitable for dry machining and for minimum quantity lubrication, with extraction
Limitations
- Z travel is only 500 or 750 mm (19.7 or 29.5 in)
- Table load of 1,000 kg/m² (max. 10 t) restricts it to light workpieces
- X and Y feed rates of up to 50 m/min are below the up to 60 m/min of the FZP27
- No spindle or head data is published on the FZG27 page
- Accuracy is stated only as in accordance to VDI/DGQ 3441 or ISO 230-2

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The X axis covers 5,000 – 16,000 mm (196.9 – 629.9 in). The Y axis is 2,000, 2,500, 3,000 or 3,500 mm (78.7, 98.4, 118.1 or 137.8 in), and the Z axis is 500 or 750 mm (19.7 or 29.5 in).
02
The standard listing is a T-slot table 4,000 – 15,000 mm long and 2,000, 2,500 or 3,000 mm wide, with 18H12 slots at a 200 mm (7.9 in) pitch and a load of 1,000 kg/m² (max. 10 t). A vacuum table with slotted grid is listed as an option, and Zimmermann says various table configurations are possible within the modular design.
03
For access. Zimmermann points to the unobstructed side access to the machine table, which it says gives the operator maximum ergonomics and lets components be loaded and unloaded easily. It also keeps the machine low: the required height is 3,300 or 3,700 mm.
04
The suitable heads are the S2, C2, C3 and VH10. The control is selected from Siemens SINUMERIK ONE and Heidenhain TNC7. Spindle ratings are not given on the FZG27 page and depend on the head.
05
Scale. The FZG is listed with 60,000 mm of X, 6,000 mm of Y and 2,500 mm of Z and takes heads up to the VH60 and M3ABC. The FZG27 covers 5,000 – 16,000 mm in X with a Z of 500 or 750 mm and uses the lighter S2, C2, C3 and VH10 heads.
