How much does the AWEA LG-20070 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA LG-20070 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The largest machine in the LG gantry range, the AWEA LG-20070 travels 20,000 mm (787.4 in) in X and 7,000 mm (275.6 in) in Y over a fixed table of 20,000 x 6,800 mm (787.4 x 267.7 in). AWEA calls it the first super large machining center with a 7,000 mm cross span introduced among Taiwan manufacturers.
For all that size, the cutting end is the one fitted to every LG. Z travel is 1,000 mm (39.4 in). The spindle is a CAT50 (7 / 24) gear unit of 4,000 rpm and 22 / 26 kW (30 / 35 HP), with faster gear and built-in spindles as options, fed from a 32-tool magazine or an optional 60-tool one. The electrical requirement is 80 kVA, no more than on the smallest LG. What the buyer gets is reach, not a bigger spindle.
Reach has a cost in accuracy, and the table states it openly. X positioning under the VDI standard is P = 0.10 mm with a repeatability of Ps = 0.080 mm. The LG-10070, with the same crossbeam over half the X stroke, lists P = 0.050 mm and Ps = 0.038 mm. Across the beam the two are equal at P = 0.040 mm over full travel, measured with an optical linear scale. Bores and faces that must relate closely to each other should be grouped within a short stretch of X, or located in Y.
Parts of this scale are rarely turned over, which is where the 5-face equipment matters. AWEA lists 35˚ and 90˚ heads, an extension head and a universal head, all developed and assembled in house and located by a 2-piece curvic coupling. The range can be equipped with an automatic head changer and a vertical / horizontal ATC system. These are options, so the configuration needs to be fixed at order.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 20,000 x 6,800 mm (787.4 x 267.7 in) fixed table rated at 2,500 kg/m², the largest in the LG range
- X rapid of 20 m/min (787 ipm) across the full 20,000 mm (787.4 in) stroke
- Y/Z positioning of P = 0.040 mm over full travel with an optical linear scale, equal to the LG-10070
- Milling heads of 35˚ and 90˚, extension and universal types for machining the sides of a part without re-clamping
- Runs on the same 80 kVA supply as the shorter LG models
Limitations
- X positioning of P = 0.10 mm and repeatability of Ps = 0.080 mm under the VDI standard, about double the LG-10070 figures
- Y rapid of 10 m/min (394 ipm) over a 7,000 mm (275.6 in) stroke
- Spindle power of 22 / 26 kW (30 / 35 HP) is no higher than on the smallest LG
- Coolant tank of 2,100 liter, the same as the LG-10070 with half the table length
- Milling heads, head changer and the 60-tool magazine are options

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Travels are 20,000 mm (787.4 in) in X, 7,000 mm (275.6 in) in Y and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in Z. The table is 20,000 x 6,800 mm (787.4 x 267.7 in) and the distance between columns is 7,800 mm (7,500 mm), the bracketed figure being with the water eliminator. AWEA says the gantry type structure uses 40% less space than bridge type models.
02
Because the VDI figure covers the whole stroke. The LG-20070 lists P = 0.10 mm and Ps = 0.080 mm over 20,000 mm (787.4 in). The LG-10070 lists P = 0.050 mm and Ps = 0.038 mm over 10,000 mm (393.7 in), and the LG-14050 lists P = 0.060 mm. The JIS repeatability row is ± 0.003 mm on all of them.
03
AWEA names a 35˚ head, a 90˚ head, an extension head and a universal head, all self developed and assembled, with hand scraped contact surfaces and a Japanese 2-piece curvic coupling for positioning. The automatic milling head can be controlled by programming. The series could also be equipped with an automatic head changer and a vertical / horizontal ATC system.

No. The spindle rows are identical across the LG range: a 4,000 rpm gear spindle as standard, 22 / 26 kW (30 / 35 HP), CAT50 (7 / 24). AWEA quotes 982 Nm at 253 rpm for that spindle. Options are 5,000 / 6,000 rpm gear spindles and 6,000 / 8,000 rpm built-in spindles.
