How much does the AWEA MCP-16040 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA MCP-16040 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Sixteen metres of fixed table is a building decision as much as a machine decision, and the AWEA MCP-16040 should be read that way. X travel is 16,000 mm (629.9 in), Y is 4,400 mm (173.2 in), Z is 1,400 mm (55.1 in), and the table measures 16,000 x 2,800 mm (629.9 x 110.2 in).
Start with the services. Power requirement is 220 ± 10 % Vac / 80 kVA, the same line AWEA prints for the shortest MCP, so the supply does not grow with the bed. Pneumatic pressure is 5 ~ 8 (5) kg/cm². The coolant tank holds 3,400 liter, which needs its own floor area and a plan for filling, filtering and disposal. Hydraulic and lubrication tanks are 100 liter and 6 liter.
Width is the other choice to make before ordering. AWEA builds the 16,000 mm machine in three widths. The MCP-16050 has 5,400 mm (212.6 in) of Y with a 4,000 liter coolant tank, and the MCP-16060 has 6,400 mm (252.0 in) of Y with 5,400 liter. The MCP-16040 is the narrowest and carries the smallest tank.
Two columns driven along a stroke this long have to stay square to each other. AWEA measures X with dual linear scales and controls both sides together to prevent misalignment. What the table does not give is a resulting accuracy figure, a machine weight or a table load. Those belong in the quotation.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 80 kVA power requirement, the same figure as on the 8,000 mm MCP-8040
- 16,000 x 2,800 mm (629.9 x 110.2 in) fixed table with low side structures for loading
- X-axis measured by dual linear scales on the moving columns
- 3,400 liter coolant tank, the smallest of the three 16,000 mm MCP widths
- BBT50 spindle with 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) and a standard automatic head changer
Limitations
- Machine weight, footprint and table load are missing from the specification table
- Cutting feed tops out at 10 m/min (394 ipm), the same figure as the rapid
- Only 4,400 mm (173.2 in) of Y; the MCP-16060 reaches 6,400 mm (252.0 in)
- Supply voltage is listed as 220 ± 10 % Vac only

Frequently Asked Questions
01
AWEA lists 220 ± 10 % Vac / 80 kVA. The same requirement is printed for all seven lengths of this width, from the MCP-8040 up to the MCP-20040. The spindle motor is 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp). If the plant supply is a different voltage, a transformer has to be planned, and the table does not mention one.
02
Coolant 3,400 liter, hydraulic 100 liter, lubrication 6 liter. For comparison, the MCP-16050 lists 4,000 liter of coolant and the MCP-16060 lists 5,400 liter; their hydraulic and lubrication tanks are the same size as here.
03
The table is 16,000 x 2,800 mm (629.9 x 110.2 in) and does not move, so nothing prevents loading one end while the bridge works at the other, as far as the travels are concerned. AWEA describes a big, open machining area with low side structures. Whether a guarded pendulum arrangement is offered is not stated on the maker's pages.
04
10 / 10 / 10 m/min (394 / 394 / 394 ipm) for X, Y and Z, with a cutting feed range of 1 ~ 10 m/min (39 ~ 394 ipm). On a 16,000 mm (629.9 in) axis that makes program order important: group operations by position so the bridge does not cross the table more often than needed.
05
Yes. Standard Z travel is 1,400 mm (55.1 in) with the spindle nose 800 ~ 2,200 mm (31.5 ~ 86.6 in) above the table. The option is 1,600 mm of Z, which brings the nose range to 600 ~ 2,200 mm.
