Overview
Heavy shafts about a metre long are the working range of the Accuway UT-360L. It pairs 1,250 mm (49.2 in) of Z travel with the UT-360 headstock: an 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) motor and noses from A2-8 to A2-11.
Turning length is 1,130 mm (44.5 in) in the A2-8 column and 1,050 mm (41.3 in) in the A2-11 columns. A shaft of that length is carried by a tailstock whose quill, 120 mm (4.7 in) across with an MT#6 centre, is sized for weight. The body travels 1,040 mm (40.9 in).
Compared with the UT-300L, which covers a similar length, this machine is a tonne heavier in round terms: 7,000 kg (15,432 lb) against the UT-300L's 6,000 kg (13,228 lb). It is wider at 2.3 m, takes larger tool shanks and swings 600 mm (23.6 in) over the saddle. What it gives away is speed. The fastest spindle column tops out at 2,700 rpm, and Z rapids at 20 m/min (787 in/min).
A BOT turret with 12 stations is standard. Options marked for the UT-360L include a 12-station servo turret and an APT 50 power turret with CS contouring control or CF axis control, plus a steady rest, a gear box and an A2-15 spindle headstock and 166 mm bar capacity.
