Overview
The Accuway UV-100ATC combines the one-metre vertical turning frame with a tool magazine in place of a turret. It turns up to 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in diameter and 800 mm (31.5 in) in length. X travel is 765 mm (30.1 in), the longest of any UV model, and Z is 800 mm (31.5 in).
Power and drive come from the big frame. The A2-15 work spindle is driven through a 2-step gearbox + Belt by a 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp) motor, with 37/45 and 45/55 kW in brackets, to a maximum of 1,200 rpm. The chuck row reads 24 (32/40) in and the guideways are box ways.
Where it differs from the UV-100E is in how the tool is held. A 12-station magazine with servo-gear indexing feeds tools with a BT50 taper to the ram. A single tool can be 400 mm (15.7 in) long and 50 kg (110 lb). For a deep bore in a tall casting, a long bar in a 50-taper is far more rigid than one clamped in a turret pocket, and the 800 mm turning length is there to use it.
