Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Vision Wide XM-42 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Two Vision Wide moving column machines list 4,200 mm (165.4 in) of Y travel, and the XM-42 is the lighter of them. It takes a workpiece up to 3,700 mm (145.7 in) wide on a table given as 3.5×(8~60) m.
The other is the XMF-42. The difference is vertical. The XM-42 has a 470x460 mm (18.5x18.1 in) ram and 1,000 mm of Z travel, 1,400 mm at most. The XMF-42 has a 680 x 680 mm (26.8 x 26.8 in) ram and 2,500 mm (98.4 in) of Z as its standard stroke. One is a machine for long, wide, fairly flat work; the other for parts that are also tall.
Flat, here, covers a great deal: bed plates, large welded frames, vehicle underframes, mold bases, plate structures for presses and cranes. For these the XM-42's proportions are right and the smaller ram is no handicap.
Feedback is strong where the axis is longest. An X dual linear scale and a Z axis linear scale are standard, and a Y axis ball screw supporting device is fitted. The Y axis linear scale is an option. X travel is built within 8,200(+1m)~60,200 mm. The spindle is a 4,000 rpm gear type with 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp), and rapids are 20/20/12 m/min.
