Overview
The Vision Wide VBE-110-1250 is a horizontal boring and milling machine with a 1,250 x 1,250 mm (49.2 x 49.2 in) table, a fixed column and a W axis of 550 mm (21.7 in). Travels are 1,600 mm (63.0 in) in X and 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in both Y and Z.
Vision Wide describes the VBE as a cross slider design in which the X axis rides on four guide ways, two box ways and two linear guides, and says the X, Y and Z guides are box way. The column does not move. For a boring mill that layout puts the table mass on a wide support and leaves the spindle side stiff, which is what long boring bars need.
The spindle is slow and strong: 3,500 rpm, 18.5 / 22 kW (24.8 / 29.5 hp) and 972 / 1,155 Nm (717 / 852 lb-ft) of torque, continuous and short-time. Torque is published for this series, which the VHM and VHT tables do not do. The maker points the W axis at deep hole and groove work in parts such as gear boxes and mold bases.
