Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Zayer ZERO that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Zayer ZERO is a bed type milling machine with a horizontal ram, a fixed bed and a moving table, built around accuracy more than size. X travel is 3,000 or 4,000 mm (118.1 or 157.5 in), Y is 1,200 mm (47.2 in) and Z is 1,600 mm (63.0 in), and none of the three carries an optional extension in Zayer's table.
What sets it apart from the XIOS is the accuracy line. Zayer states a positioning accuracy of 0.006/4,000 mm and a repeatability of 0.004/4,000 mm for the ZERO, under the heading ISO 230-2: 2006 Annex B, where the XIOS is listed at 0.008/4,000 mm and 0.005/4,000 mm. The maker ties those figures to an active cooling system that controls and compensates the heat sources of the mechanisms, and to a precision package covering 21 degrees of freedom that is standard on the machine.
All three linear axes run on ball screws and share the same rates: 40,000 mm/min (1,575 ipm) rapid feed and 35,000 mm/min (1,378 ipm) working feed. That uniformity helps on finishing passes over mould surfaces, where the path keeps trading one axis for another. Power is listed at 30 kW (40.2 hp) with a 6,000 rpm spindle head, or 8,000 rpm as an option. The XIOS offers 41 kW (55.0 hp), so the ZERO is the lighter-cutting machine of the two.
The table is 1,000 mm (39.4 in) wide, as long as the X travel, and takes 10,000 kg (22,046 lb). The tool magazine holds 40 tools, 60 as an option. A 45º automatic head is standard; a continuous-rotation 45º head and a 30º head are options, as is a ceiling for the enclosure, which otherwise comes open on top. Zayer's page names no CNC, spindle taper or torque, so those have to be settled in the quotation.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Positioning accuracy of 0.006/4,000 mm and repeatability of 0.004/4,000 mm, headed ISO 230-2: 2006 Annex B
- Rapid feed of 40,000 mm/min (1,575 ipm) on the longitudinal, cross and vertical axes alike
- Active cooling system that controls and compensates the heat sources of the mechanisms
- A precision package covering 21 degrees of freedom is standard
- 40-tool magazine as standard, 60 as an option
- Table rated for 10,000 kg (22,046 lb)
Limitations
- Travels are fixed at 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of Y and 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Z; the XIOS offers longer cross and vertical travels as options
- Power is 30 kW (40.2 hp), against 41 kW (55.0 hp) on the XIOS
- The longest X travel is 4,000 mm (157.5 in); the XIOS goes to 5,000 mm (196.9 in)
- Zayer's page gives no CNC, spindle taper, torque or machine weight for this model

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Zayer lists positioning accuracy at 0.006/4,000 mm and repeatability at 0.004/4,000 mm, and heads those rows ISO 230-2: 2006 Annex B, step cycle. Both figures are tighter than those of the XIOS, which is listed at 0.008/4,000 mm and 0.005/4,000 mm.
02
X travel is 3,000 or 4,000 mm (118.1 or 157.5 in), matched by the table length. Y is 1,200 mm (47.2 in) and Z is 1,600 mm (63.0 in). The maximum distance from the table to the spindle nose is 1,600 mm (63.0 in). Zayer's table shows no optional travels for this model.
03
The standard head is a 45º automatic head that works in indexed positions. A 45º head with continuous rotation and a 30º head that works either in positions or in continuous rotation are listed as options. The spindle head runs at 6,000 rpm, with 8,000 rpm optional, and power is given as 30 kW (40.2 hp).
04
Both are bed type machines with a horizontal ram and a moving table. The ZERO is the accuracy-led design: ball screws on all three axes, 40,000 mm/min (1,575 ipm) rapid feed and active cooling. The XIOS is the capacity-led one, with 41 kW (55.0 hp), a rack and pinion longitudinal drive and X travel up to 5,000 mm (196.9 in).
05
Zayer marks the 45º automatic head, a chip conveyor, the coolant tank and a complete enclosure open on top as standard. The enclosure with ceiling is optional. The tool magazine holds 40 tools as standard and 60 as an option.
