Overview
The Vision Wide GSF-5027 is one of the few machines in the maker's range offered with a choice of two five-axis controls. A HEIDENHAIN TNC640 controller is standard, and a SIEMENS 840D SL controller is the option.
On a simultaneous five-axis machine the control is not a detail. It runs the tool-centre-point function that the TCPM figure of 0.04mm is measured through, and the shop's post-processors, probing cycles and operator habits are all tied to one control family or the other. Being able to match the machine to what the programmers already use removes a real obstacle.
The machine has 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X travel, 2,700 mm (106.3 in) of Y and a 5,000 x 2,700 mm (196.9 x 106.3 in) fixed table. Five metres is a common length for wing and fuselage tooling, long molds and large structural parts in aluminum.
Its head carries a built-in spindle direct-driven on the B and C axes, 15,000 rpm, with 50/65 kW (67.1/87.2 hp). Rapids are 32 m/min in X and Y and 20 m/min in Z, and cutting feed runs 1-20,000 mm/min. Z travel is 1,000/1,200 mm (39.4/47.2 in).
