Overview
The Vision Wide ASM-1612 is the large-table ASM with the fast spindle. Its table is Ø1,500 mm (Ø59.1 in) and takes 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) in the central area, X travel is 1,620 mm (63.8 in), and the spindle speed is 10,000 rpm.
Two versions share that table, so it is worth being exact. The ASM-1612 lists 10,000 rpm and rapids of 40 / 40 / 40 m/min. The ASM-1612G lists 7,000 rpm and 40 / 40 / 24 m/min. Buyers who cut mostly aluminum, or who finish more than they rough, want this one.
Tooling and coolant are generous for the class. A horizontal chain type magazine with 40 tools is standard, and 60 or 119 tools are optional. The universal head has an external cutting coolant device as standard; coolant through spindle at 20 / 60 bar, the same with air through the spindle at 6 bar, and oil mist (MQL) are options.
Y travel is 1,260 mm (49.6 in), which is less than the table diameter. A part that fills the Ø1,500 mm table is reached across its full width by rotating it, not by Y travel alone. Z travel is 1,050 mm (41.3 in). The control is a HEIDENHAIN TNC 640, with a SIEMENS ONE Controller as the option.
