Overview

The longest GS is the Vision Wide GS-3020, with 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X travel, 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Y and a 3,000 x 2,000 mm (118.1 x 78.7 in) table.

Tooling and measurement need planning on a machine that may run one large part for a full shift. The standard magazine is a 20T tool magazine with arm type ATC, and a 32 tools magazine is the only larger one on the option list. Twenty tools is not many for a mold with roughing, semi-finishing and finishing cutters in several diameters. Auto tool length measurement and auto workpiece coordinate measurement are both optional; on long unattended runs they are what catches a worn or broken cutter before it marks the part.

Chips are dealt with as standard. Vision Wide notes a chain type chip conveyor that removes iron chips efficiently.

Performance figures are the same across the series: 15,000 rpm, 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp), cutting feed of 1-24,000 mm/min and rapids of 24 / 24 / 24 m/min, or 30 / 30 / 24 m/min with the option. Z travel is 800 mm, or 1,000 mm. Table load is 3,000 kg/m2. Beyond three metres, the GSA gantry line starts at a wider 2,700 mm cross travel; the GSA-3027 lists 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X and 2,700 mm (106.3 in) of Y.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How many tools does the Vision Wide GS-3020 hold?

A 20T tool magazine with arm type ATC is standard, and a 32 tools magazine with arm type ATC is optional. The magazine row of the maker's table is not printed cleanly, so these figures come from the accessory lists.

02 What are the GS-3020 travels?

3,000 mm (118.1 in) in X and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in Y. Z is 800 / 1,000 mm (31.5 / 39.4 in) (Opt.), with the longer stroke as an option.

03 Is there a larger Vision Wide gantry than the GS-3020?

The GSA series is larger. The GSA-3027 has 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X and 2,700 mm (106.3 in) of Y, and the GSA line continues to 6,000 mm (236.2 in) of X with the GSA-6027.

04 What measurement options does the GS-3020 have?

Auto tool length measurement and auto workpiece coordinate measurement are both listed as optional accessories. XYZ axis linear scale feedback is standard.
