Vision Wide GSA-3027 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide GSA-3027 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Buyers of a three-metre Vision Wide gantry with a two-axis head choose between two machines with the same travels, and the Vision Wide GSA-3027 is the indexing one. X travel is 3,000 mm (118.1 in), Y travel 2,700 mm (106.3 in), and the table 3,000×2,700 mm (118.1×106.3 in).

Its head positions in 1-degree steps on B and C and then holds still. The GSF-3027, on the same travels, has direct-driven B and C axes that move during the cut, and Vision Wide publishes a dynamic five-axis accuracy figure for it on the GSF page.

Which is right depends on the surfaces. Angled planes, inclined holes, undercut walls reached from a fixed tilt: all of these are positioning jobs, and a head that locks is the stiffer way to do them. Blended sculpted surfaces that need the tool axis to change continuously are not; that is what the GSF is for. Much mold work is of the first kind.

Both share a 50/65 kW (67.1/87.2 hp) spindle rating and 15,000 rpm. On the GSA, rapid traverse is 32/32/20 m/min and the cutting feed range is 1~20,000 mm/min. An automatic correction software of rotary axis error is offered as an option.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Indexing head that locks at the set angle for rigid 3+2 cutting
  • 3,000×2,700 mm (118.1×106.3 in) fixed table
  • 50/65 kW (67.1/87.2 hp) at 15,000 rpm
  • Head rotation error mechanism chain correction is standard

Limitations

  • Cannot change tool angle during the cut, unlike the GSF-3027
  • Automatic correction software of rotary axis error is optional
  • Indexing increments are 1 degree on B and C

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the difference between the Vision Wide GSA-3027 and the GSF-3027?

Travels are the same. The GSA-3027 has an indexing head, 1 degree per step on B and C, for 3+2 axis work. The GSF-3027 has direct-driven B and C axes for simultaneous five-axis cutting.

02 What are the GSA-3027 travels and table?

X travel is 3,000 mm (118.1 in), Y travel is 2,700 mm (106.3 in) and Z travel is 1,000 mm, or 1,200 mm as an option. The table is 3,000×2,700 mm (118.1×106.3 in).

03 How is head accuracy maintained on the GSA-3027?

IAC head rotation error mechanism chain correction is on the standard list. Automatic correction software of rotary axis error is an option, and the X axis has dual linear scales with single scales on Y and Z.

04 What control runs the GSA-3027?

A HEIDENHAIN TNC640 controller is listed as standard for the GSA series. The page names no alternative control for this series.
