Vision Wide GS-2020 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide GS-2020 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

A square two-metre table defines the Vision Wide GS-2020: 2,000 x 2,000 mm (78.7 x 78.7 in), with 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of travel in both X and Y.

The load rating is where a gantry differs from a moving-table machine. Vision Wide gives 3,000 kg/m2 for the GS, a pressure on the table surface, not a total. Since the table is part of the bed casting and never moves, a heavier part does not slow the axes or change how the servo drives behave. A dense steel mold and a light aluminum plate are cut with the same axis dynamics.

Vision Wide describes a pyramid type weight distribution through the spindle, ram, cross beam and bed, with the mass low and wide. It also points to a low table height, a close operating zone and a wide door, which matter when a two-metre part has to be loaded by crane and set up by hand.

The spindle runs to 15,000 rpm on 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp). Rapids are 24 / 24 / 24 m/min. For a longer part the GS-2520 has 2,500 mm (98.4 in) of X travel with the same cross travel.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Square 2,000 x 2,000 mm (78.7 x 78.7 in) table with matching travels
  • Table load of 3,000 kg/m2 on a fixed table
  • Low table height and wide door for loading, per the maker
  • 24 / 24 / 24 m/min rapid traverse

Limitations

  • No total table load is published, only the load per square metre
  • Z travel is 800 mm unless the 1,000 mm option is ordered
  • Standard spindle is 15,000 rpm with a modest 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp)

Best For

Square molds and die inserts up to two metres Dense workpieces that would slow a moving table Crane-loaded parts needing easy access

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How much weight can the Vision Wide GS-2020 table hold?

Vision Wide rates it at 3,000 kg/m2, a figure per square metre of the 2,000 x 2,000 mm (78.7 x 78.7 in) table. No total is given, so check concentrated loads with the maker.

02 What are the travels of the GS-2020?

2,000 mm (78.7 in) in X, 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in Y, and 800 / 1,000 mm (31.5 / 39.4 in) (Opt.) in Z, where the longer Z stroke is optional.

03 Does workpiece weight affect the GS-2020 axes?

The GS is a gantry type with the columns, bed and table in one piece casting, so the table does not move. The moving axes therefore carry the same mass whatever the part weighs.

04 What spindle does the GS-2020 have?

A direct-driven spindle at 15,000rpm is standard, with 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp). Built-in and other direct driven spindles are optional.
