Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Vision Wide GS-1220 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Vision Wide GS-1220 is a compact gantry machining center: the table stays still and the bridge travels over it. X travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in), Y travel 2,000 mm (78.7 in), and the table measures 1,200 x 2,000 mm (47.2 x 78.7 in).
Because the table does not move, the machine needs no room for table overtravel. Vision Wide describes the GS as a box structural design suitable for limited working space, with the columns, bed and table combined in one piece casting. For a shop that wants a two-metre cross travel but cannot give up the floor length a moving-table machine sweeps, that is the argument for this layout.
A fixed table also means the axes carry the same mass whatever the part weighs. Table load is given per area, 3,000 kg/m2, not as a total.
The GS is a high-speed machine. A direct-driven spindle at 15,000rpm is standard, with 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp). Cutting feed is 1-24,000 mm/min, and rapids are 24 / 24 / 24 m/min, or 30 / 30 / 24 m/min as an option. This is the shortest GS; the GS-1620 has 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of X on the same Y.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A gantry type CNC machining center. Vision Wide describes a one-piece design of work table and columns, so the workpiece stays fixed while the axes move over it. Travels are 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in X and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in Y.
02
The table lists 3,000 kg/m2, a load per square metre of table. The table measures 1,200 x 2,000 mm (47.2 x 78.7 in). The maker gives no total load figure.
03
Rapid traverse is 24 / 24 / 24 m/min as standard and 30 / 30 / 24 m/min as an option. Cutting feed is 1-24,000 mm/min, and the spindle runs to 15,000 rpm.
04
The row reads 800 / 1,000 mm (31.5 / 39.4 in) (Opt.): 800 mm as standard, with 1,000 mm available as an option. Y travel is 2,000 mm (78.7 in).
