SW BA W06-32 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the SW BA W06-32 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from SW or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The SW BA W06-32 is a three-spindle machining center on linear drives. The spindles are 425 mm (16.7 in) apart, and each has 425 mm (16.7 in) of X, 600 mm (23.6 in) of Y and 500 mm (19.7 in) of Z.

Three is the answer to a packaging problem. Inverter housings, small stator housings and wheel carriers are often a little too wide for a four-spindle pitch once clamps are counted. On a two-spindle machine a good part of the width then goes unused. At 425 mm, three such parts fit the frame that otherwise holds two.

The spindle is the HSK-A63 unit with a 1-17,500 rpm range, 32 kW and 72 Nm per spindle. No larger interface is listed for this model. In aluminium that rating covers drilling, tapping, and milling with medium-sized cutters.

The model has two work tables in SW's naming scheme, and its 4th axis clears Ø 675 x 1,430 mm, the same figure as the two-spindle BA W06-22. SW lists independent Z and X axes for the series, which matters more as spindles are added. Three parts never sit at exactly the nominal spacing, and separate axis corrections keep each one in tolerance. Tooling and fixtures come in sets of three.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Three HSK-A63 spindles at a 425 mm (16.7 in) spindle distance
  • 17,500 rpm, 32 kW and 72 Nm per spindle with linear drives
  • Two work tables and a Ø 675 x 1,430 mm interference circle
  • Independent Z and X axes on SW's feature list for the series

Limitations

  • HSK-A63 only: no HSK-A80 or HSK-A100 as on the BA W06-22
  • 72 Nm per spindle limits heavy cuts
  • 425 mm (16.7 in) of X per spindle
  • Tools and fixtures in threes complicate planning

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the spindle distance of the BA W06-32?

425 mm (16.7 in), with the same figure as X travel per spindle. Y is 600 mm (23.6 in) and Z is 500 mm (19.7 in).

02 Why three spindles instead of two or four?

Pitch. The BA W06-22 offers 600 mm (23.6 in) per part and the BA W06-42 offers 300 mm (11.8 in). Parts in between waste space on the first and do not fit the second. At 425 mm (16.7 in) the BA W06-32 machines three of them per cycle.

03 What spindle does the BA W06-32 use?

An HSK-A63 spindle with a speed range of 1-17,500 rpm, 32 kW and 72 Nm, three times over. SW's table shows no other interface for this model.

04 Does the BA W06-32 load during machining?

It has two work tables by SW's naming scheme, and the series feature list names loading and unloading in parallel to machining time. Three parts are cut while three more are clamped on the other table.
