Price estimate
We do not have a price for the SW BA W08-21 space that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The SW BA W08-21 space is the twin-spindle machine with the largest swing in SW's BA W08 table: an interference circle of Ø 1,850 x 1,980 mm on the 4th axis. Two spindles each cover 800 mm (31.5 in) of X and 660 mm (26.0 in) of Z, with 1,025 mm (40.4 in) of Y on HSK-A63 or HSK-A80 and 975 mm (38.4 in) on HSK-A100.
A carrier this large raises a question the table does not answer. Two separate parts per cycle, one under each spindle, is the classic twin-spindle case. Whether one very large part, such as a battery tray or subframe wider than a single work space, can be shared between the two spindles is something to settle with SW before planning fixtures.
The spindle distance is given as 799-851 mm, with 800 mm in brackets for the two smaller interfaces and 840 mm for HSK-A100. Spindle ratings are 35 kW and 80 Nm at up to 17,500 rpm, or 42 kW and 200 Nm at up to 12,500 rpm.
SW's feature list for the series speaks of the best use of space due to a large Q-axis beam. The page gives no dimensions for the beam and does not explain the Q axis, so that belongs on the question list too. Parts are loaded on a single table.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø 1,850 x 1,980 mm interference circle with two spindles
- 800 mm (31.5 in) of X per spindle and up to 1,025 mm (40.4 in) of Y
- Spindle distance listed as a 799-851 mm range
- Linear drive technology with HSK-A63, HSK-A80 or HSK-A100 spindles
Limitations
- Single work table, so both spindles stop while parts are changed
- The swing is larger than the Y travel, so big fixtures must be indexed
- No more than 200 Nm per spindle
- Carrier load, Q-axis details and machine weight are missing from SW's page

By the interference circle: Ø 1,850 x 1,980 mm on the BA W08-21 space, Ø 1,650 x 1,830 mm on the standard BA W08-21. SW's table shows the same travels, spindle distance and spindles for both.
02
800 mm (31.5 in) in X and 660 mm (26.0 in) in Z. Y is 1,025 mm (40.4 in) with HSK-A63 or HSK-A80, and 975 mm (38.4 in) with HSK-A100.
03
HSK-A63 with a 1-17,500 rpm range, 35 kW and 80 Nm per spindle, and HSK-A80 or HSK-A100 with a 1-12,500 rpm range, 42 kW and 200 Nm per spindle.
