How much does the SW BA 711 space cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the SW BA 711 space that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The SW BA 711 space takes the single-spindle BA 711 and enlarges the work space upward and outward. Y travel grows to 1,175 mm (46.3 in) and Z to 650 mm (25.6 in), while X stays at 1,350 mm (53.1 in). The 4th-axis interference circle becomes Ø 1,700 x 1,830 mm.
Those numbers put it among the largest work envelopes SW lists for a machine with a rotary workpiece carrier. A part 1.7 metres across its swing is no longer an automotive part in the usual sense. It is a truck or tractor housing, a large structural casting or an industrial gearbox case.
The spindle is shared with the standard model. HSK-A100 in both cases, with either a 12,500 rpm range, 42 kW at 25% ED and 400 Nm at 20% ED, or a 6,000 rpm range with 52 kW and 615 Nm. On parts this size the tools are long, and long tools want torque and stiffness more than speed, so the 615 Nm spindle is the natural partner for iron.
SW shows the model in a video about machining large, complex workpieces flexibly. Complex is the key word. A single spindle with a big swing reaches many faces of one large part in one clamping, which is where the time is saved on work like this. Per-part output is not the argument, as it is elsewhere in SW's range.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,175 mm (46.3 in) of Y travel, against 650 mm (25.6 in) on the BA 711
- Ø 1,700 x 1,830 mm interference circle for very large fixtures
- 1,350 mm (53.1 in) of X and 650 mm (25.6 in) of Z
- HSK-A100 spindle with up to 615 Nm at 20% ED
Limitations
- Single spindle and single table: one large part at a time
- Top speed is 12,500 rpm, or 6,000 rpm with the high-torque spindle
- Spindle ratings are given at 25% and 20% ED, not as continuous values
- SW's table lists no table load, machine weight or footprint

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A larger work envelope. Against the standard BA 711, Y goes from 650 mm (25.6 in) to 1,175 mm (46.3 in), Z from 560 mm (22.0 in) to 650 mm (25.6 in), and the interference circle from Ø 1,300 x 1,630 mm to Ø 1,700 x 1,830 mm.
02
Two HSK-A100 spindles: a 1-12,500 rpm version with 42 kW at 25% ED and 400 Nm at 20% ED, and a 1-6,000 rpm version with 52 kW at 25% ED and 615 Nm at 20% ED.
03
Yes. The BA 721 space has the same 1,175 mm (46.3 in) of Y, 650 mm (25.6 in) of Z and Ø 1,700 x 1,830 mm interference circle, with two spindles 700 mm (27.6 in) apart and 650 mm (25.6 in) of X each.

For the BA 7 series SW lists truck engine blocks in iron casting, steering knuckles, truck brake calipers and industrial gearbox housings, in automotive, agricultural and construction machinery, hydrogen and fuel cells, and aerospace. The space model is the one for the largest of these.
