We do not have a price for the SW BA W06-22 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The SW BA W06-22 is the machine SW uses as the example for its naming: BA for machining center, W0 for linear drive, 6 for the size with a 600 mm standard spindle distance, then two spindles and two work tables. It is the central model of the BA W06 line.
Each spindle works in 600 mm (23.6 in) of X, 630 mm (24.8 in) of Y and 510 mm (20.1 in) of Z. The spindles are 600 mm (23.6 in) apart and the 4th axis clears Ø 675 x 1,430 mm. Two parts are cut per cycle while the second table is loaded.
Three spindle interfaces are offered. HSK-A63 gives a 1-17,500 rpm range with 35 kW and 80 Nm per spindle. HSK-A80 and HSK-A100 give 1-12,500 rpm with 42 kW and 200 Nm per spindle, rated at 10% ED.
SW describes the BA W06 as the fastest machining center of its kind, with independent Z and X axes. The part list is dominated by e-mobility: stator housings, battery trays, inverter housings, alongside gearbox and coupling housings, wheel carriers and ABS valve housings. These are aluminium parts with thin walls and many features, where time between cuts is a large part of the cycle. Linear axes shorten exactly that part. SW states 50% less energy used per part than a single-spindle machine.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two spindles and two work tables on a linear-drive machine: two parts per cycle and loading during the cut
- 600 x 630 x 510 mm of travel per spindle at a 600 mm (23.6 in) pitch
- Independent Z and X axes, per SW's feature list
- HSK-A63 at 17,500 rpm, or HSK-A80 or HSK-A100 with 42 kW and 200 Nm at 10% ED
- SW calls the BA W06 the fastest machining center of its kind
Limitations
- Ø 675 x 1,430 mm interference circle, against Ø 1,000 x 1,430 mm on the BA W06-21
- 80 Nm per spindle with HSK-A63; the 200 Nm figure is a 10% ED rating
- Y travel of 630 mm (24.8 in) limits tall parts
- Magazine capacity and rapid traverse are not in the table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
SW's nomenclature spells it out: BA is machining center, W0 is linear drive, 6 is size 6 with a standard spindle distance of 600 mm, the first 2 is the number of spindles and the second 2 the number of work tables.
02
HSK-A63 with a 1-17,500 rpm range, 35 kW and 80 Nm per spindle; or HSK-A80 or HSK-A100 with a 1-12,500 rpm range, 42 kW and 200 Nm per spindle at 10% ED.
03
It must rotate inside the 4th-axis interference circle of Ø 675 x 1,430 mm. Each part must also lie within its spindle's 600 mm (23.6 in) of X, 630 mm (24.8 in) of Y and 510 mm (20.1 in) of Z.
04
When parts fit the 300 mm (11.8 in) pitch of the BA W06-42. The BA W06-42 has four HSK-A63 spindles with 32 kW and 72 Nm each and machines four parts per cycle. The BA W06-22 handles parts up to a 600 mm (23.6 in) pitch and offers the larger interfaces.
