How much does the Feeler FMH-500 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler FMH-500 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Feeler lists the FMH-500 in three spindle versions on one 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) pallet machine: a No.40 spindle at 8,000 rpm, and a No.50 spindle at 6,000 rpm offered both as DDS and as belt drive. This page covers all three columns of the maker's table.
The versions share most of their figures. Y and Z travel are 710 mm (28.0 in) each, rapids are 30 m/min (1,181 ipm) on every axis, and the tool range is 40-120. X travel is the row that differs: 762 mm (30.0 in) with the No.40 spindle and 730 mm (28.7 in) with either No.50 spindle. The DDS and belt columns are identical in every row Feeler prints, so what separates them, torque at low speed, has to be asked for.
Pallet load depends on the table type. The table gives 1°: 500 kg and 0.001°: 600 kg, meaning 500 kg on the 1° indexing table and 600 kg on the 0.001° table. The fine-increment table is the one needed for angled features and for full fourth-axis contouring.
Feeler describes the FMH-500 as having a low center of gravity three-point support design, a high-low rail base structure and a modular short-column spindle, with an ergonomic operation height. A three-axis thermal control system is included to reduce thermal displacement. Three-point support is worth noting for installation: a machine on three points keeps its geometry without the careful multi-point levelling that longer beds need.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Choice of No.40 spindle at 8,000 rpm or No.50 spindle at 6,000 rpm, the latter as DDS or belt drive
- 710 mm (28.0 in) of Y and Z travel over a 500 mm pallet
- Pallet load of 600 kg with the 0.001° table
- Three-axis thermal control system, per Feeler
- Three-point support base and 40-120 tool magazine range
Limitations
- X travel shrinks to 730 mm with the No.50 spindle
- Rapids of 30 m/min, where the FMH-500 Premium lists 48 m/min
- The 1° table carries 500 kg, less than the 0.001° table
- No torque or power data to distinguish the DDS and belt No.50 spindles

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Three columns appear in Feeler's table: #40 with a 7/24 Taper No.40 at 8,000 rpm, and #50 (DDS) and #50 (BELT), both with a 7/24 Taper No.50 at 6,000 rpm.
02
Feeler prints 1°: 500 kg / 0.001°: 600 kg. The pallet is 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in). The load therefore depends on which rotary table is fitted, the 1° indexing table or the 0.001° table.
03
X is 762 mm (30.0 in) with the No.40 spindle and 730 mm (28.7 in) with the No.50 spindle. Y and Z are 710 mm (28.0 in) on all versions.
04
The FMH-500 Premium is faster: rapids of 48 m/min, 800 mm of Z travel and spindle speeds of 10,000 rpm for No.40 and 8,000 rpm for No.50. The standard FMH-500 lists 30 m/min, 710 mm of Z and 8,000 or 6,000 rpm.
