You Ji HMC1000 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the You Ji HMC1000 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from You Ji or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

From the HMC1000 upward, You Ji's horizontal machining centers gain a W-axis. On the You Ji HMC1000 it travels 600 mm (23.6 in), and it turns the machine from a pallet mill into something close to a table-type boring mill.

The other figures point the same way. The table is rectangular, 1,200 x 1,000 mm (47.2 x 39.4 in), not a square pallet. Maximum table load is 3,000 kg (6,614 lb), twice that of the HMC800. And the BT-50 spindle is listed at 3,500 rpm, a speed chosen for boring bars and large cutters.

A W-axis lets the tool advance into a bore while the column stays back. The effective reach along the spindle line is then the 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of Z plus whatever the W stroke adds, and the tool overhang stays short for the first part of the cut. Line boring of bearing seats through a housing, deep counterbores and back-facing are the typical uses.

X-axis travel is 1,500 mm (59.1 in) and Y-axis travel 1,000 mm (39.4 in). The spindle motor is 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp), unchanged from the HMC800, as is the 3,660 mm (144.1 in) height. Buyers who mainly mill should note the speed drop from the 6,000 rpm of the HMC800. Floor space is 5,600 x 4,720 mm (220.5 x 185.8 in). Builds are B, with a B-axis rotary table, and BP, with an automatic pallet changer as well.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • W-axis travel of 600 mm (23.6 in), the first HMC size to have one
  • 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) table load
  • Rectangular 1,200 x 1,000 mm (47.2 x 39.4 in) table
  • 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) BT-50 spindle
  • 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of X travel

Limitations

  • Spindle speed is 3,500 rpm, down from 6,000 rpm on the HMC800
  • Y travel stays at 1,000 mm (39.4 in); the HMC1200 has 1,500 mm (59.1 in)
  • Z travel of 1,200 mm (47.2 in) is no longer than on the HMC800
  • Quill diameter and W-axis thrust are not given

Best For

Line boring and deep bores in gear and pump housings Castings up to 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) Boring-and-milling work that does not need high spindle speed

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the W-axis on the HMC1000?

A fourth linear axis along the spindle direction with 600 mm (23.6 in) of travel. The three smaller HMC sizes have none. The HMC1200 and larger have a W-axis of 700 mm (27.6 in).

02 How heavy a part can it take?

Maximum table load is 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) on a 1,200 x 1,000 mm (47.2 x 39.4 in) table. The next size, the HMC1200, carries 5,000 kg (11,023 lb).

03 What are the spindle figures?

Spindle taper BT-50, spindle speed 3,500 rpm, spindle motor 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp). That speed applies to every HMC model from the HMC1000 to the HMC2500.

04 What are the X, Y and Z travels?

X-axis travel 1,500 mm (59.1 in), Y-axis travel 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and Z-axis travel 1,200 mm (47.2 in). Machine height is 3,660 mm (144.1 in) and floor space 5,600 x 4,720 mm (220.5 x 185.8 in).
