Overview
The SCM Morbidelli M100/200F is the flat-table edition of the brand's modular machining center. In place of bars and pods it has an aluminium multi-function work table, which SCM says keeps its planarity over time and is also suited to nesting. Sheets are laid on the table and cut into parts in one program.
Two columns appear in the table, m100 f and m200 f. They share the routing unit of up to 15 kW (20.5 hp) at 24000 rpm and the drilling unit, and differ in clearance and tool count. Z axis panel passage is 180 mm (7.1 in) on the m100 f and 250 mm (9.8 in) on the m200 f. The changer holds up to 44 places on the first and 60 places on the second.
For a nesting buyer the working areas deserve a careful look. The longest X is 5,510 mm (216.9 in), but Y is 1320 mm or 1620 mm only, and the m200 f is not offered in the narrower depth. Check your usual sheet width against these figures before anything else; the Morbidelli X200/X400 lists wider tables such as 4356x2216 mm.
The head can carry up to four machining units. Listed alongside the main spindle are a drilling unit with up to 21 independent vertical and 12 independent horizontal spindles, an integrated blade in X of 125 mm (4.9 in), a 0-90° blade unit of up to 2.2 kW (3 hp) and an auxiliary routing unit of up to 4.5 kW (6 hp). Vectorial speed in X-Y is 56 m/min in ProSpace and 78 m/min in ProSpeed.
