Price estimate
We do not have a price for the SCM Accord 50 FXM that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The SCM Accord 50 FXM is the tall member of the Accord multi-function table line. Its working areas have 500 mm (19.7 in) of Z, and SCM states that the increased Z-axis stroke allows work-pieces up to 500 mm in height to be machined with large tools.
This is a pure 5-axis machine. The table lists one routing spindle only, a 5-axis electrospindle of up to 17 kW (22.8 hp) at 24000 rpm, with no separate 3- or 4-axis unit. SCM positions it for complex-shaped and large-sized objects, from design elements in wood to special applications, so think of formwork, moulds, sculpted furniture and thick laminated parts.
Six working areas are available, from 3650x1600x500 mm to 6170x2120x500 mm. The gantry travels at 95 m/min in X and 80 m/min in Y, with Z at 30 m/min. The Y figure is a little below the 90 m/min of the lower Accord 40 FXM.
Tooling follows the family pattern: 12 positions on the machining head, a 48-position rear store and a 12-position side store, plus a drilling unit of up to 26 vertical and horizontal spindles. Large parts are fixed on the aluminium worktable by vacuum or by mechanical equipment in the T-grooves. The bar-table equivalent is the Accord 50 FX.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Work-pieces up to 500 mm in height, the tallest capacity of the Accord FXM models
- 5-axis electrospindle of up to 17 kW (22.8 hp) at 24000 rpm
- Six working areas up to 6170x2120x500 mm on a flat aluminium worktable
- 48-position rear tool store for large tool sets
Limitations
- No 3- or 4-axis electrospindle is listed, so heavy straight profiling relies on the 5-axis unit
- Z-axis speed of 30 m/min is slow relative to 500 mm (19.7 in) of travel
- Y-axis speed is 80 m/min, below the 90-90-30 m/min (X-Y-Z axes max. speed) of the Accord 40 FXM

Frequently Asked Questions
01
SCM states that the increased Z-axis stroke allows the machining of work-pieces up to 500 mm in height, using large dimensioned tools. All six working areas list 500 mm (19.7 in) of Z.
02
One routing spindle is listed: a 5-axis electrospindle with a maximum motor power of 17 kW (22.8 hp) and a maximum rotation speed of 24000 rpm. SCM describes the PRISMA heads with 5 interpolating axes as designed for processing solid wood.
03
This model has the aluminium multi-function worktable with integrated vacuum and T-grooves, and working areas such as 3650x1600x500 mm. The Accord 50 FX is the bar-table model, with working areas such as 3680x1680x500 mm.
04
Axis speeds are 95-80-30 m/min in X-Y-Z. Tools are held in 12 positions on the machining head, 48 positions at the rear and 12 positions at the side, and the drilling unit has up to 26 vertical and horizontal spindles.
