Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Quaser MK3000 (#40) that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Quaser MK3000 (#40) is a 5-axis travelling column machining center for large components, with 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X travel over a fixed 3,300 x 850 mm (129.9 x 33.5 in) table. This page covers the lighter of its two spindle classes: HSK-A63 or SK/BT40, listed at 15K ~ 24K.
On a travelling column machine the part stays still and the column carries the spindle along it. The table can therefore take 4,200 kg (9,259 lb) without that mass ever being accelerated. Quaser drives X and Y with linear motors, which removes ballscrews from the two axes that do most of the moving on long parts.
Five-axis motion comes from two places. A swivel head tilts the spindle through ±120° as the B-axis. The C-axis is a rotary table integrated into the fixed table; Quaser's description calls it optional and gives it an 800 mm diameter, and the spec table lists its range as 360°. With both, the maker says the machine reaches full 5-axis simultaneous machining. Without the C-axis it is a long-bed machine with a tilting head, useful for angled features along beams and rails.
Y and Z travel are both 800 mm (31.5 in). The spindle transmission is built in, and the magazine holds 40 tools as standard, against 30 on the MK3000 (#50). Choose this version for aluminium structures and long light-alloy profiles, where 24K at the top of the range does more good than a larger taper.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X travel on a 3,300 x 850 mm (129.9 x 33.5 in) fixed table
- Linear motor drives in the X and Y axes
- Swivel head B-axis of ±120° and an integrated rotary table C-axis of 360°
- Table carries 4,200 kg (9,259 lb)
- Built-in spindle listed at 15K ~ 24K with HSK-A63 or SK/BT40, and 40 tools as standard
Limitations
- Quaser's description calls the integrated C-axis optional, so full 5-axis work may depend on an extra
- Spindle power and torque are printed without units on Quaser's page and cannot be relied on from it
- Y travel of 800 mm (31.5 in) is narrower than the 850 mm table width
- No tool size limits, rapid rates or accuracy figures are published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
3,000 mm (118.1 in) in X, 800 mm (31.5 in) in Y and 800 mm (31.5 in) in Z. The table measures 3,300 x 850 mm (129.9 x 33.5 in) and has a maximum load of 4,200 kg (9,259 lb). These figures are the same for both spindle versions.
02
Through a tilting head and a rotary table. The swivel head spindle is the B-axis, with a ±120° range. The C-axis is a rotary table integrated in the machine table, listed at 360°; Quaser describes it as an optional, fully integrated C-axis with 800 mm diameter.
03
The spindle and magazine. The MK3000 (#40) takes HSK-A63 or SK/BT40 tools, is listed at 15K ~ 24K and has 40 tools as standard. The MK3000 (#50) takes HSK-A100 or SK/BT50 tools, is listed at 10K ~ 15K and has 30 tools as standard.
04
Quaser states that the machine has linear motor drives in the X and Y axes. The spindle transmission is listed as built in. Drive details for the Z axis and the rotary axes are not given on the product page.
