How much does the Quaser UX500 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Quaser UX500 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Quaser UX500 is a compact 5-axis machining center with a Ø410 mm (Ø16.1") table and a fixed 12K maximum spindle speed. It handles parts up to Ø540 x 400 mm (Ø21.3" x 15.8") weighing no more than 200 kg (441 lbs), with linear travels of 712 mm (28.0") in X, 540 mm (21.3") in Y and 515 mm (20.3") in Z.
Unlike most of Quaser's range, the UX500 has no speed band to choose from. The table says 12K and nothing else. That makes the purchase simpler and the machine less specialized: fine for steels, titanium and general aluminium work, less so for the smallest ball-nose finishing where higher speed is wanted.
Quaser describes a symmetrical design, which it credits with better damping and lower thermal displacement, and a relatively compact footprint. The part of the description to remember is the last line. The design is modular and allows for expandable multi-pallet configurations, so a UX500 bought as a standalone machine is not a dead end if volumes grow.
The application list is unusually concrete: control arms, brackets and engine blocks; blisks, impellers and turbine blades; titanium knee joints and dental parts; tire molds in tool steel. The 200 kg (441 lbs) table rating fits the smaller items on that list better than the engine block. The magazine holds 30 tools as standard, up to 280 mm (11.0") long.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Work pieces up to Ø540 x 400 mm (Ø21.3" x 15.8") on a Ø410 mm (Ø16.1") table
- 712 mm (28.0") of X travel in a compact single unit machine
- Symmetrical design for damping and lower thermal displacement, per Quaser
- Modular design allows expandable multi-pallet configurations
- One listed spindle speed, 12K, so there is no option list to work through
Limitations
- Table load is 200 kg (441 lbs), the lightest rating in Quaser's UX range
- Spindle speed is listed at 12K only, with no faster option in the table
- 30 tools as standard; the UX500APC carries 48
- No rotary axis range, power or torque is published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Up to Ø540 x 400 mm (Ø21.3" x 15.8") and 200 kg (441 lbs). The table is Ø410 mm (Ø16.1") and the maximum swing is Ø540 mm (Ø21.3").
02
712 mm (28.0") in X, 540 mm (21.3") in Y and 515 mm (20.3") in Z. Quaser's table does not state the ranges of the two rotary axes, so request them for parts with undercuts.
03
The maximum spindle speed is listed as 12K on a 40 taper. Unlike the UX500APC, which is listed at 9K ~ 15K, the UX500 table shows a single figure. Power and torque are not published.
04
Quaser states that the modular design allows for expandable multi-pallet configurations. The maker also lists a UX500APC, a version with an automatic pallet changer, a □400 mm (□15.8") pallet and 48 tools as standard.
