Quaser MF700 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Quaser MF700 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Quaser or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Quaser's MF700 is a 5-axis machining center with a column-moving C frame and a Ø650 mm (Ø25.59") rotary table, taking parts up to Ø700 x H500 mm (Ø27.56" x H19.69") and 500 kg (1102.30 lbs). Its design idea is separation: the three linear axes are on the column side, the rotary axes are on the table side, and the two never stack.

Quaser gives two reasons for that split. It keeps following errors small, because no rotary axis rides on a moving linear one. And it puts the transmission components away from the working area, out of the coolant and chips. The column has a wide span with large linear way blocks, and the rotary table is integrated with a bridge type column to keep the footprint small.

The 500 kg (1102.30 lbs) rating comes with a condition worth reading: Quaser attributes it to the rotary table with tailstock support. The rotary drive is a worm gear and wheel with an encircling brake as standard, and Quaser says it can be upgraded with a dual Direct Drive Motor for work that needs speed, such as aerospace parts.

Linear travels are 820 mm (32.28") in X, 570 mm (22.44") in Y and 530 mm (20.87") in Z. The 40 taper spindle is listed at 12K ~ 20K, and 48 tools are standard, up to 300 mm (11.81") long.

Day-to-day details are covered too. There are 2 wide doors, three types of top guard (telescope, solid cover or open top), and a base that lets chips fall directly onto the conveyor, which Quaser says cuts chip cleaning time by 50%.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Parts up to Ø700 x H500 mm (Ø27.56" x H19.69") and 500 kg (1102.30 lbs) with tailstock support
  • Linear and rotary axes are separated to minimize following errors, per Quaser
  • Worm gear rotary drive as standard, with a dual Direct Drive Motor upgrade available
  • 48 tools as standard, each up to 300 mm (11.81") long
  • Chips fall directly onto the conveyor; Quaser claims 50% less chip cleaning time

Limitations

  • Y travel of 570 mm (22.44") and Z of 530 mm (20.87") are short for a Ø700 mm (Ø27.56") swing
  • Tilt range and rotary speeds are not listed in the published table
  • The Direct Drive rotary axes are an upgrade, not the standard build
  • No spindle power or torque is given for the 12K ~ 20K range

Best For

Medium-size 5-axis parts up to a Ø700 mm (Ø27.56") swing Heavy parts supported by the tailstock, up to 500 kg (1102.30 lbs) Aerospace work with the dual Direct Drive Motor upgrade Cells loaded through the 2 wide doors, which Quaser notes ease automation

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the capacity of the Quaser MF700?

The maximum work piece size is Ø700 x H500 mm (Ø27.56" x H19.69") on a Ø650 mm (Ø25.59") table, with a load capacity of 500 kg (1102.30 lbs). Quaser's description ties the load figure to the rotary table with tailstock support.

02 What are the linear travels of the MF700?

X travel is 820 mm (32.28"), Y travel is 570 mm (22.44") and Z travel is 530 mm (20.87"). The table does not list the tilt or rotation ranges of the rotary axes.

03 How are the rotary axes of the MF700 driven?

The standard build uses a worm gear and wheel with an encircling brake, which Quaser says provides high rigidity and lock-force. For applications with a high speed demand, such as aerospace, the maker offers an upgrade to a dual Direct Drive Motor.

04 What spindle and magazine does the MF700 have?

A 40 taper spindle listed at 12K ~ 20K and a 48-position magazine as standard. Tools can be 76.2 mm (3") in diameter, 125 mm (4.9") with neighboring pots empty, and 300 mm (11.81") long.

05 Is there a longer version of the MF700?

Yes. The MF700 (Flex) has 1680 mm (66.14") of X travel and adds a fixed table beside the rotary table. Y and Z travel are the same as the MF700.
