Overview

The Pinnacle QV179 has a 2,000 x 850 mm (78.7 x 33.5 in) table rated for 2,500 kg (5,511 lb) on a box-way frame that weighs 15,000 kg (33,069 lb). Pinnacle's feature list for the three large QV models reads 1500 (1700, 2000) X 900 x 850 mm Travel; the travel cell for this model is misprinted in the maker's table, so the axis rows are omitted from the table on this page.

A curiosity worth noting for fixture planning: the table here is longer than the 1,900 x 850 mm (74.8 x 33.5 in) table of the linear-way LV179, although both belong to the 1700 mm travel class.

Like the QV159 it is a slow, heavy cutter. Rapids are 16 / 16 / 12 m/min, ways are hardened sliding surfaces, and ball screws are 50mm in diameter. The ISO50 side of the table lists a Ø100 mm (Ø3.9 in) spindle bearing bore, a 2,000 kgf draw bar and a DISK / CHAIN magazine with 24 / 32 tools.

The spindle motor row is printed inconsistently for this group, and the feature list gives 25/20HP. Plan for 4,450 x 2,900 mm (175.2 x 114.2 in) of floor, 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of height, a 40 kVA supply and a 700 L coolant tank. Pinnacle lists Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens and Fagor controls.
