Overview

The Pinnacle LV209 is the longest machine in the LV line. Its table is 2,200 x 850 mm (86.6 x 33.5 in) and carries 3,000 kg (6,614 lb), and the feature list for the group, 1500 (1700, 2000) X 900 x 850 mm Travel, makes it the 2000 mm model. As with the LV179, the travel cell in Pinnacle's table is misprinted, so the per-axis travel rows are left out of the table here.

Moving that much table has a consequence. X and Y rapids are 18 / 18 / 16 m/min, slower than the 24 m/min of the two shorter models. On long parts with few repositioning moves that hardly matters; on plates full of small features it adds up.

Three tonnes of table load calls for the larger spindle, and the ISO50 column offers 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp), a spindle bearing bore of Ø100 mm (Ø3.9 in) and tools of 350 mm (13.8 in) and 15 kg (33 lb). An ISO40 spindle with 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) is the alternative where speed matters more than torque.

Installation needs 5,000 x 2,900 mm (196.9 x 114.2 in) of floor for a 16,000 kg (35,273 lb) machine, plus a 40 kVA supply and a 700 L coolant tank. X and Y run on linear ways and Z on a box way, with a linear Z as an option.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How large is the Pinnacle LV209 table?

The table measures 2,200 x 850 mm (86.6 x 33.5 in) and is rated for 3,000 kg (6,614 lb). T-slots are listed as 18 x 150 x 5 and the spindle nose travels 100 ~ 950 mm (3.9 ~ 37.4 in) above the table surface.

02 Why are the LV209 rapids slower than the LV159?

Pinnacle's table gives 18 / 18 / 16 m/min for the LV209 and 24 / 24 / 16 m/min for the LV159 and LV179. The page does not explain the difference; the LV209 has the longest table and the highest load rating of the three.

03 What does the LV209 need for installation?

Floor space of 5,000 x 2,900 mm (196.9 x 114.2 in), 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of height, a supply of 220V, 3Ph,50/60Hz at 40 kVA and air at 6 kg/cm². The machine weighs 16,000 kg (35,273 lb) and the coolant tank holds 700 L.

04 Which tool magazines are available on the LV209?

For ISO40 the table lists a 24-tool disk magazine with tools up to Ø90 mm (Ø3.5 in), 250 mm (9.8 in) and 8 kg (18 lb). For ISO50 it lists DISK / CHAIN with 24 / 32 tools up to 350 mm (13.8 in) and 15 kg (33 lb).
