Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hedelius FORTE 9-2600 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hedelius FORTE 9-2600 opens the FORTE 9 series, which Hedelius says extends the FORTE line upwards. It is a 3-axis travelling column machining centre with travels of 2,600 x 900 x 1,005 mm (102.4 x 35.4 x 39.6 in) and a fixed 3,080 x 900 mm table for 3,000 kg (6,614 lb).
The step up from the smaller series shows in three places. Z travel passes a metre, at 1,005 mm, with a spindle distance of 15 to 1,020 mm. The magazine holds 60 tools as standard. And the spindle list reaches 50 kW: an HSK A63 unit with 217 Nm at 15,000 rpm, rated at 600 cm3/min of milling in E335/St60-2. Hedelius names 14,000 rpm and 22 kW as the standard spindle, with SK40 as the standard mount and HSK A63 as an option. In between sit a 37 kW, 185 Nm SK40 / BT40 spindle and an 18,000 rpm HSK A63 unit with 35 kW.
Pendulum operation is listed as 1,025 x 1,025 mm, so the table can be divided into two work areas of that length. For a machine with 2,600 mm of X that is a usable size on each side.
The magazine travels with the column and a double gripper preselects the next tool during the cut. Chip-to-chip time is ca. 12 s. Feed force is 27,000 N and feeds are 40 m/min. Hedelius lists direct measuring systems, a fully encapsulated work area, and a chip conveyor in right-hand or left-hand design. The machine weighs 16,500 kg (36,376 lb) and is 2,960 mm high for transport.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X 2,600 mm, Y 900 mm and Z 1,005 mm. The fixed table has a clamping area of 3,080 x 900 mm with seven 18 mm T-slots at 125 mm spacing and a table load of 3,000 kg (6,614 lb). The spindle distance is 15 to 1,020 mm.
02
Hedelius lists a liquid-cooled motorised milling spindle with 14,000 rpm and 22 kW as standard, with an SK40 mount; HSK A63 is optional. The data sheet adds SK40 / BT40 with 185 Nm and 37 kW, HSK A63 at 18,000 rpm with 35 kW, and HSK A63 at 15,000 rpm with 217 Nm and 50 kW.
03
Yes. The data sheet lists pendulum operation as 1,025 x 1,025 mm, which means two work areas of 1,025 mm each. One is machined while the other is set up. The travelling 60-place magazine serves both without a long return trip.
04
Chip-to-chip time is ca. 12 s for a pre-selected follow-on tool. A double gripper preselects the next tool parallel to machining time. Tools can be 330 / 390 mm long, 75 mm in diameter with all places occupied, and 5 kg.
