Overview

The Pinnacle DV1932 pairs 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of X with 1,900 mm (74.8 in) of Y and a 3,200 x 1,700 mm (126.0 x 66.9 in) table, a table size it shares only with the DV2132.

This is a machine for removing a lot of metal from big parts. Pinnacle drives the ISO50 spindle through a gear box, which it describes as excellent for heavy cutting, and holds the tool with 2,000 kgf. The spindle head is a box-type construction carried on linear ways laid out at its sides. Under the part, the table is rated at 10,000 kg/m2 and has eleven T-slots, listed as 22 x 150 x 11.

Speed is not its strong point. The table gives 8,000 rpm and a 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) motor, and rapids are 12/16/20 m/min on X, Y and Z. On long finishing passes that hardly matters; on parts with many scattered features the positioning time adds up.

Tools stay out of the chips: the chain magazine is mounted apart from the cutting area behind a protection door, with random bi-directional selection. The machine weighs 23,500 kg (51,808 lb) and needs 8,130 x 5,300 mm (320.1 x 208.7 in) of floor, 50 kVA and air at 6 kg/cm². Its spindle nose works between 110~1,010 mm (4.3~39.8 in) from the table.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What size table does the Pinnacle DV1932 have?

3,200 x 1,700 mm (126.0 x 66.9 in), with T-slots listed as 22 x 150 x 11 and a load rating of 10,000 kg/m2. X travel is 3,200 mm (126.0 in) and Y travel is 1,900 mm (74.8 in), so the spindle covers the table with margin in Y.

02 Why does the DV1932 use a gear box?

Pinnacle states that running the spindle through a gear box makes the machine excellent for heavy cutting, and that the wide speed range lets it do heavy cutting and fine finishing. All gears and bearings in the gear box are oil-bath lubricated. The motor is 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp).

03 How does the DV1932 differ from the DV1942?

The DV1942 is longer: 4,200 mm (165.4 in) of X, a 4,200 x 1,700 mm (165.4 x 66.9 in) table rated at 12,000 kg/m2 and 10/16/20 m/min rapids. The DV1932 has 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of X, 12/16/20 m/min rapids and weighs 23,500 kg (51,808 lb) against 25,000 kg (55,115 lb) for the DV1942.

04 Is the tool magazine protected from chips on the DV1932?

Yes. Pinnacle mounts the magazine separately from the cutting area and adds a protection door to prevent contamination of the tools by chips or coolant. The magazine is cam driven, tool selection is bi-directional and random, and the table lists a capacity of 24/32.
