Overview
The Pinnacle AX450 gives the AX trunnion design a Ø450 mm (Ø17.7 in) table and a symmetrical tilt: the A axis swings 220°(±110°). Linear travels are 760 mm (29.9 in) in X, 610 mm (24.0 in) in Y and 560 mm (22.0 in) in Z.
Symmetrical tilt is what separates it from the AX320, whose table goes to 120° on one side and only 30° on the other. With ±110° the part can be presented to the spindle from either side without re-clamping, which matters on components with features all the way round.
The table has an unusually large through hole, Ø171 mm (Ø6.7 in), useful for fixtures that pass through the centre. Maximum workpiece size is Ø600x 300 mm (Ø23.6x 11.8 in).
Spindle choices are shared with the smaller model: ISO40, 9/12 kW (12.1/16.1 hp), direct drive at 10,000 (12,000/15,000) rpm or built-in at 18,000 (20,000/24,000) rpm. Rapids are 30/30/24 m/min. The A/C feed rate of 5.5/11.5 rev/min is modest, so cycle times on fully simultaneous paths are set by the table and not by the linear axes.
