Overview
The Pinnacle AX500 is the largest AX trunnion machine, with a Ø500 mm (Ø19.7 in) table driven by DD motors on both rotary axes. It shares its 760 mm (29.9 in), 610 mm (24.0 in) and 560 mm (22.0 in) travels with the AX450 but moves the table much faster: the A/C feed rate is 30/90 rev/min.
That figure is the reason the model exists. The AX450 turns its table at 5.5/11.5 rev/min. A direct-drive table that is several times quicker keeps up with the linear axes in simultaneous 5-axis toolpaths, which is where blades, impellers and sculpted mould surfaces are cut.
