Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Pinnacle AX320 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Pinnacle AX320 is a 40-taper 5-axis machining center with a Ø320 mm (Ø12.6 in) tilting rotary table and travels of 660 mm (26.0 in) in X and 610 mm (24.0 in) in Y and Z. It is the first AX model built on a full-size vertical machining center frame, at 6,500 kg (14,330 lb).
The step up in frame shows in the spindle. The motor is 9/12 kW (12.1/16.1 hp), and there are two spindle families: direct drive at 10,000 (12,000/15,000) rpm or built-in at 18,000 (20,000/24,000) rpm. The first suits general steel and aluminium work, the second mould finishing with small tools.
On this model the table is driven by servo motor, and Pinnacle lists A-axis and C-axis rotary encoders among the accessories. The A axis covers 150°(-120°/+30°). Rotary feed is 5.5/11.5 rev/min on A/C, far slower than the direct-drive tables elsewhere in the range, so the AX320 is better at positioned five-sided work and steady contouring than at fast simultaneous motion.
The Z axis is counterbalanced pneumatically and the ball screws are cooled internally. The magazine row reads DISK - 24,30(Chain-40), meaning 24 or 30 tools in a disk and 40 in a chain. Maximum workpiece size is Ø420x 300 mm (Ø16.5x 11.8 in). Supply is 40 kVA.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two spindle families: 10,000 (12,000/15,000) rpm direct or 18,000 (20,000/24,000) rpm built-in
- 9/12 kW (12.1/16.1 hp) ISO40 spindle on a 6,500 kg (14,330 lb) frame
- Tool capacity of 24 (30,40) with disk or chain magazines
- Pneumatic Z-axis counterbalance and internally cooled ball screws
Limitations
- Rotary feed of 5.5/11.5 rev/min on A/C is slow for simultaneous 5-axis cutting
- A-axis tilt is 150°(-120°/+30°), so the table tips fully in one direction only
- Table load is printed without a unit in the maker's table

660 mm (26.0 in) in X, 610 mm (24.0 in) in Y and 610 mm (24.0 in) in Z. The spindle nose is 50~605 mm (2.0~23.8 in) from the table surface, and the rotary table is Ø320 mm (Ø12.6 in) with a Ø50 mm (Ø2.0 in) hole.
02
Direct drive at 10,000 (12,000/15,000) rpm and built-in at 18,000 (20,000/24,000) rpm. The taper is ISO40 and the main motor is 9/12 kW (12.1/16.1 hp), continuous and 30 minute.
03
Pinnacle states that table rotation and tilting are driven by servo motor. The A axis tilts 150°(-120°/+30°), the C axis rotates 360°, and the A/C feed rate is 5.5/11.5 rev/min. Rotary encoders on both axes are in the accessories list.
04
The capacity is listed as 24 (30,40): a disk magazine with 24 or 30 tools, or a chain with 40. Maximum tool diameter is 90 (76) mm, the smaller figure applying to the denser magazine.
