How much does the Nexturn SA32PYII cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Nexturn SA32PYII that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
A 32 mm (1.3 in) Swiss-type automatic lathe that can also run as a chucker: that is the Nexturn SA32PYII. It has eight axes including Y2, 25 tools, an 8,000 rpm main spindle rated 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp), and Nexturn's exchangeable guide bush and non guide bush system.
At 32 mm the non guide bush mode becomes more useful than on the smaller sizes, and the table reflects it. The turning length row reads 210 mm (8.3 in); N: 80 mm (3.1 in), where the SA20PYII and SA26PYII show N: 60 mm (2.4 in). Many parts cut from 32 mm bar are short relative to their diameter and do not need guide-bush support. Running them without the bush lets the shop use drawn bar and leave a shorter remnant, which is how the brochure describes the purpose of the system. The N figure should still be confirmed for the job, as the table does not define it.
On the main side the machine carries five OD tools on □16 × 120 mm (0.6 × 4.7 in) shanks, five cross positions and five Y-axis ID tools. The sub spindle side has two fixed front-end face tools and a back-end station listed at eight tools, Live 4 and Fixed 4, with Y2 travel behind it. Back-end drives are light, 1.0 kW (1.3 hp), and back-end drilling stops at 10 mm (0.4 in) and M8. The cross unit is the strong one: 2.2 kW (3.0 hp), 12 mm (0.5 in) and M10.
Who should look elsewhere? A shop that needs still more tools has the SA32XII with 29 and a 270 mm (10.6 in) turning length. A shop that wants hard back-end drilling and no Y2 has the SA32PII.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Guide bush and non guide bush operation, with N: 80 mm (3.1 in) listed for this size
- Eight axes with Y2 and Cs control on both spindles
- 25 tools, five more than the SA32PII
- 2.2 kW (3.0 hp) cross drill and mill unit taking 12 mm (0.5 in) drills and M10 taps
- Built-in sub spindle motor, 2.2 / 3.7 kW (3.0 / 5.0 hp), with inverter oil cooling
Limitations
- Back-end tools are driven by 1.0 kW (1.3 hp), against 2.2 kW (3.0 hp) on the SA32PII
- Guide-bush turning length is 210 mm (8.3 in); the SA32XII offers 270 mm (10.6 in)
- Both front-end face tools for the sub spindle are fixed
- Reaching eight back-end tools requires the optional Live 4, Fixed 4 back tool unit

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table prints the turning length as 210 mm (8.3 in) followed by N: 80 mm (3.1 in) and gives no legend. The PYII type is the one with an exchangeable guide bush and non guide bush system, so N is read here as the non guide bush length. Confirm it with Nexturn before planning a job around it.
02
Both are eight-axis 32 mm machines with Y2 and a FANUC 0iTF control. The SA32PYII has 25 tools, 210 mm (8.3 in) of guide-bush stroke and the non guide bush option. The SA32XII has 29 tools and 270 mm (10.6 in), with a 3.7 / 7.5 kW (5.0 / 10.1 hp) main spindle and a 1.0 kW (1.3 hp) cross unit.
03
The cross station is listed as five positions, Modular 3 and Live 2. The back-end station is Live 4 and Fixed 4 in the table, which is the optional unit; the standard PYII back unit is Live 2, Fixed 2. The two front-end face tools are fixed unless the optional front-end face revolving unit is fitted.
04
A FANUC 0iTF controlling eight axes: X1, Z1, Y1, X2, Z2, Y2, C1 and C2. The minimum input increment is 0.001 mm, there are 64 sets of tool offsets, and program memory is 1 Mbyte with up to 800 registered programs.
