Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Nexturn SA32XII that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Nexturn SA32XII is a 32 mm (1.3 in) Swiss-type automatic lathe built for parts with a long list of operations: 29 tools, eight axes including Y2, and 270 mm (10.6 in) of turning length. It is the largest X machine that Nexturn lists with its rotary guide bushing unit and the full eight-position cross station.
At 32 mm Nexturn offers four different machines, so where does this one fit? The SA32B and SA32PII are seven-axis machines with 20 tools. The SA32PYII adds Y2 and reaches 25 tools. The SA32XII goes to 29 with the same two tool paths, and the SA32XIII moves to three paths and eleven axes under a different control. In other words this is the most heavily tooled 32 mm machine that still runs on the FANUC 0iTF.
Its motors are sized for many light cuts and not for a few heavy ones. The main spindle is 3.7 / 7.5 kW (5.0 / 10.1 hp), below the 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp) of the SA32PYII, and the sub spindle is 1.5 / 2.2 kW (2.0 / 3.0 hp). Cross tools and back-end tools each have 1.0 kW (1.3 hp) and stop at 10 mm (0.4 in) drills and M8 taps. Both spindles turn at up to 8,000 rpm and have pneumatic brakes.
The tool list reads seven OD tools on □16 × 120 mm (0.6 × 4.7 in) shanks, eight cross positions with four modular, four ID tools, two front-end face tools for the sub spindle and eight back-end tools. Front-end live tools and the eight-position back unit are options. Net weight is 3,700 kg (8,157 lb).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 29 tools, the most of any 32 mm machine in Nexturn's FANUC 0iTF range
- 270 mm (10.6 in) of turning length, against 210 mm (8.3 in) on the SA32PYII
- Y2 axis for the back-end tool station and Cs control on both spindles
- 4 spindle cross drill unit and 4 spindle modular cross drill unit are both standard
- One-piece slant bed casting with LM guides
Limitations
- 3.7 / 7.5 kW (5.0 / 10.1 hp) main spindle, lighter than the SA32PYII's 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp)
- 1.0 kW (1.3 hp) on the cross unit and on the back-end station
- Cross drilling limited to 10 mm (0.4 in) and M8, where the SA32PYII lists 12 mm (0.5 in)
- Standard back tool unit is Live 2, Fixed 2; eight tools require the optional unit
