How much does the Nexturn NST67 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Nexturn NST67 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
No Nexturn machine takes a larger bar than the NST67: 67 mm (2.6 in). It is the top of the NST family of three-path automatic lathes, with a 12 station turret, a gang type tool post, a sub spindle, a 150 mm (5.9 in) turning length and a FANUC 31i-B control.
Mechanically it is the NST56 opened up for bigger stock. The two columns in Nexturn's table differ only in bar diameter. Main spindle motor, 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp); sub spindle motor, 3.7 / 5.5 kW (5.0 / 7.4 hp); top speed, 5,000 rpm; weight, 6,400 kg (14,109 lb): all are shared. So the larger bar is cut with the same power, and at full diameter the NST67 will need lighter cuts or lower surface speeds than its sibling.
The proportions of the work change too. With 67 mm of diameter and 150 mm of length the typical part is short and wide, and more of the machining moves to the face and the bore. The main spindle drills to 20 mm (0.8 in) and taps to M16 on centre. Turret live tools and the gang post's cross tools reach 16 mm (0.6 in) and M12 at up to 6,000 rpm, and the largest cross disc mill is 50 mm (2.0 in), which will not span the bar.
Seven back-end tools, four fixed and three live, complete the part on the sub spindle, with back-end drilling to 13 mm (0.5 in). The turret's bore diameter is given as 45 mm. Supply is 45 kVA, coolant capacity 450 L, and rapid traverse on the Y axes 24 m/min.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 67 mm (2.6 in) bar capacity, the largest Nexturn lists
- 12 station turret, gang tool post and back working station under three-path control
- Live tooling at all 12 turret stations at up to 6,000 rpm
- Built-in main spindle motor with hydraulic disc brake and oil cooling
- Same 6,400 kg (14,109 lb) machine as the NST56, so capacity rises without added weight
Limitations
- 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) main spindle is unchanged from the NST56 despite the larger bar
- Cross disc mill is limited to 50 mm (2.0 in), less than the bar diameter
- Only 150 mm (5.9 in) of turning length
- Sub spindle motor is 3.7 / 5.5 kW (5.0 / 7.4 hp), a fraction of the main spindle's rating

Frequently Asked Questions
01
67 mm (2.6 in), with a maximum turning length of 150 mm (5.9 in). On-centre drilling is listed at 20 mm (0.8 in) and tapping at M16. Nexturn gives the bar remnant for the NST family as less than 80 mm.
02
No. Both list an 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) main spindle and a 3.7 / 5.5 kW (5.0 / 7.4 hp) sub spindle at up to 5,000 rpm. The NST67 only adds bar capacity, 67 mm (2.6 in) against the 56 mm (2.2 in) of the NST56.
03
Four OD tools and four cross live tools on the front gang post, 12 turret stations that all accept live tools, and seven back-end face tools. Turning tools use □20 × 125 mm (0.8 × 4.9 in) shanks. Nexturn puts the maximum at 39 tools mounted.
04
Power consumption is listed at 45 kVA. The coolant tank holds 450 L, served by two 0.9 kW pumps, with a 2 L lubrication tank and 12 L of cooling oil. Machine weight is 6,400 kg (14,109 lb). Overall dimensions are not among the listed figures, so request a layout drawing.
