How much does the Nexturn SA26PYII cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Nexturn SA26PYII that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Nexturn's SA26PYII is the eight-axis, convertible version of its 26 mm (1.0 in) Swiss-type automatic lathe. It lists 25 tools, runs main and sub spindle to 8,000 rpm, and can be set up with a guide bush or without one.
Three things are added over the SA26PII. First is the Y2 axis, which appears in the axis designation between Z2 and C1 and lets tools move off centre at the sub spindle. Second is a fifth cross spindle: the PYII cross station is five positions, Modular 3 and Live 2. Third is a larger back-end station, listed as eight tools with four of them live. Together they take the count from the SA26PII's 20 tools to 25.
More back-end tools do not mean stronger ones. The PYII's back-end face tools have a 1.0 kW (1.3 hp) motor and are limited to 10 mm (0.4 in) drills and M8 taps. The SA26PII, with fewer back tools, drives them with 2.2 kW (3.0 hp) and drills to 12 mm (0.5 in). Main-side figures are the same on both: 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp) on the spindle and 2.2 kW (3.0 hp) on the cross unit, with cross drilling to 12 mm (0.5 in) and M10.
Turning length is given as 210 mm (8.3 in); N: 60 mm (2.4 in). The first figure is shorter than the PII type gives. The second, going by the brochure's description of the two headstock modes, is the length available without the guide bush, and is worth confirming. Machine size does not change with any of this: 2,100 × 1,165 × 1,660 mm (82.7 × 45.9 × 65.4 in) and 3,400 kg (7,496 lb).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Y2 axis for off-centre drilling and milling on the sub spindle side
- 25 tools, including a five-position cross station and up to eight back-end tools
- Guide bush and non guide bush operation on the same machine
- 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp) main spindle and a 2.2 / 3.7 kW (3.0 / 5.0 hp) built-in sub spindle motor
- Same footprint and 3,400 kg (7,496 lb) weight as the seven-axis SA26PII
Limitations
- Back-end tool motor is 1.0 kW (1.3 hp), less than half the 2.2 kW (3.0 hp) of the SA26PII
- Back-end face drilling is limited to 10 mm (0.4 in) and M8
- 210 mm (8.3 in) of guide-bush turning length, where the SA26PII has 250 mm (9.8 in)
- The Live 4, Fixed 4 back unit is an option over the standard Live 2, Fixed 2 unit

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A Y2 axis, one more cross spindle and a bigger back-end tool station. The SA26PYII is an eight-axis machine with 25 tools; the SA26PII has seven axes and 20 tools. The PYII is also the type with the exchangeable guide bush and non guide bush system.
02
The table prints 210 mm (8.3 in) with N: 60 mm (2.4 in) in brackets after it. The brochure describes a guide bush mode for long parts and a non guide bush mode for a shorter bar remnant, so the two figures correspond to those modes. Ask the supplier to confirm the non guide bush stroke for your part.
03
Main and sub spindle are both listed at 8,000 rpm. Cross spindles turn at up to 6,000 rpm and the back-end tool station at up to 5,000 rpm. Both spindles have Cs control and pneumatic brakes, and rapid traverse is 32 m/min.
