Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Nexturn SA26XII that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Nexturn SA26XII is the middle of the three small X machines, a 26 mm (1.0 in) Swiss-type automatic lathe with 29 tools, eight axes and 270 mm (10.6 in) of turning length. Its main spindle is rated 3.7 / 7.5 kW (5.0 / 10.1 hp) at up to 8,000 rpm.
It is easiest to understand as an SA32XII with a smaller bore. The two columns of Nexturn's table agree on every row except bar diameter, sub spindle chucking diameter and weight, where the SA26XII is 3,600 kg (7,937 lb) and the SA32XII 3,700 kg (8,157 lb). The step from the SA20XII is the real one: the main motor goes from 2.2 / 3.7 kW (3.0 / 5.0 hp) to 3.7 / 7.5 kW, tool shanks from □12 to □16 × 120 mm (0.6 × 4.7 in), and one OD position is traded for a fourth ID tool.
Seven OD tools, eight cross positions and four ID tools serve the main spindle. Four of the cross positions are a modular unit, listed as standard beside the four fixed-position cross spindles. The back-end station sits on the Y2 axis and is listed with eight tools, Live 4 and Fixed 4; the standard unit is Live 2, Fixed 2.
Light secondary drives are the limit to plan around. The cross unit and the back-end station are each 1.0 kW (1.3 hp), and both are held to 10 mm (0.4 in) drilling and M8 tapping, while the main spindle drills to 12 mm (0.5 in) and taps M10. A buyer who needs more force across the bar should compare the SA26PYII, whose cross unit is 2.2 kW (3.0 hp).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 29 tools on eight axes, against 25 on the SA26PYII
- 270 mm (10.6 in) of turning length through a synchronous rotary guide bush
- 3.7 / 7.5 kW (5.0 / 10.1 hp) main spindle with an oil cooling system
- Eight cross positions including a four-spindle modular unit
- Four ID tools on the main side, one more than the SA20XII
Limitations
- Cross and back-end drives are 1.0 kW (1.3 hp) each
- Cross and back-end drilling are limited to 10 mm (0.4 in) and M8
- Sub spindle motor is 1.5 / 2.2 kW (2.0 / 3.0 hp), smaller than the 2.2 / 3.7 kW (3.0 / 5.0 hp) of the SA26PYII
- No non guide bush mode is listed for the X type

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Very little in the table. The SA32XII takes 32 mm (1.3 in) bar and weighs 3,700 kg (8,157 lb); the SA26XII takes 26 mm (1.0 in) and weighs 3,600 kg (7,937 lb). Motors, speeds, tool counts, drilling limits and machine dimensions are printed the same for both.
02
Eight cross positions: a 4 spindle cross drill unit and a 4 spindle modular cross drill unit, both on the standard list. They run at up to 6,000 rpm on a 1.0 kW (1.3 hp) motor, drill to 10 mm (0.4 in), tap to M8 and carry a disc mill up to 40 mm (1.6 in).
03
The SA26XII for tool count and stroke: 29 tools and 270 mm (10.6 in). The SA26PYII for drive power and flexibility: 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp) on the main spindle, a 2.2 kW (3.0 hp) cross unit and the guide bush / non guide bush system, with 25 tools and 210 mm (8.3 in).
04
2,330 × 1,350 × 1,800 mm (91.7 × 53.1 × 70.9 in) and 3,600 kg (7,937 lb), with a 250 L coolant tank. The bar feeder is an option and is not part of those dimensions. Spindle centre height is 1,000 mm (39.4 in).
