Overview
The Matec 30PP | 40PP is MATEC's stationary gantry machine with a pallet changer. The moving table of the PT machines becomes a pallet 2,000 to 5,000 mm long and 2,000 to 3,000 mm wide (78.7 to 118.1 in), so one part can be set up outside the work area while another is being cut.
MATEC calls the pallet changer the core element of the PP series and ties its case to large parts, where setting up or reclamping during production saves the most time. Two additional pallet stations are optional. With long-running workpieces, MATEC says, that allows multi-shift production with a considerably reduced workforce.
Pallet load is 4,000 kg (8,818 lb), depending on table size and drive system, which has to cover fixture and part together. The head on this version is the 2-axis fork head: 250 mm (9.8 in) swivel radius, ±180° in C and ±105° in A. Travels are 3,750 to 6,750 mm in X, 3,400 or 4,400 mm in Y and 1,500 to 2,100 mm in Z.
The spindle list reads 10,000, 15,000 or 24,000 rpm with maxima of 96 kW (128.7 hp) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft). Tool weight is 20 kg (44 lb) and length 450 mm (17.7 in). For unattended running, the magazine can be extended to a maximum of 680 tool places and an automatic head change is available; MATEC also mentions monitoring systems for safe production.
