Overview
The Litz VC-1400A(B) begins the large half of the VC vertical machining center series. Travels are 1,400 mm (55.1 in) in X, 800 mm (31.5 in) in Y and 740 mm (29.1 in) in Z, over a 1,500 x 800 mm (59.1 x 31.5 in) table that carries 1,600 kg (3,527 lb).
Y travel is the headline. Going from the VC-1200A(B) to this model adds some X but takes Y from the 600 mm of the VC-1200A(B) to 800 mm, so the machine suits parts that are wide and square, not only long. The table is as deep as the Y stroke, which means the whole surface can be machined.
As with the other bracketed VC models, the column gives two sets of spindle figures. Unbracketed: 10,000 rpm, BT-40, 30 tools, 7 kg (15 lb) per tool, 14,500 kg (31,966 lb).
