How much does the Litz MV-1000 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Litz MV-1000 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Litz MV-1000 is a 40-taper vertical machining center with travels of 1,000 mm (39.4 in), 500 mm (19.7 in) and 540 mm (21.3 in) in X, Y and Z and a standard spindle speed of 8,000 rpm. It is aimed at general steel and cast-iron work more than at high-speed finishing.
The option list makes that plain. Litz offers a ZF gearbox with cooling system on this model, which is how a 40-taper spindle gets low-speed torque for large drills, taps and face mills. A 10,000 rpm spindle, a spindle oil cooler and coolant through the spindle are the other spindle options. As delivered, the spindle has an air seal system and BT-40 tooling.
The table matches the travel exactly in X: 1,000 x 500 mm (39.4 x 19.7 in). Load capacity is 500 kg (1,102 lb), modest for a metre-long table, so it suits long light parts or several small vises better than one dense block. Between spindle nose and table there is 100 to 640 mm (3.9 to 25.2 in).
The axes are quick for this class at 36 / 36 / 24 m/min (1,417 / 1,417 / 945 ipm). Tools up to 300 mm (11.8 in) long and 8 kg (18 lb) go into the 24-tool arm changer. The machine weighs 5,800 kg (12,787 lb), needs 20 kVA and holds 240 L of coolant. Control is the Mitsubishi M80, with FANUC and Siemens 828D as options.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,000 x 500 x 540 mm travels on a 5,800 kg (12,787 lb) machine
- ZF gearbox with cooling system available as an option for low-speed torque
- 36 / 36 / 24 m/min (1,417 / 1,417 / 945 ipm) rapids and feed to 20,000 mm/min
- Tools up to 300 mm (11.8 in) long in a 24-tool arm changer
Limitations
- Standard spindle speed is 8,000 rpm; 10,000 rpm is an option
- Table load of 500 kg (1,102 lb) is low for a 1,000 mm table
- Spindle oil cooler and coolant through the spindle are options
- Y travel is 500 mm (19.7 in), less than the 560 mm of the MV-1200A

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The specification table and the standard accessory list both give 8,000 rpm. A 10,000 rpm spindle is listed as an option, as are a spindle oil cooler, coolant through the spindle and a ZF gearbox with cooling system. Tooling is BT-40.
02
The table measures 1,000 x 500 mm (39.4 x 19.7 in) and carries up to 500 kg (1,102 lb). It has five 18 mm T-slots. X travel equals the table length, so the spindle covers the whole table.
03
The Mitsubishi M80 is the standard control. The accessory list shows FANUC and Siemens 828D as options. Linear scales on the three axes and a 4th axis rotating table are also offered as options.
04
Litz lists a machine weight of 5,800 kg (12,787 lb), a 20 kVA power requirement, a compressed air source of 6 kg/cm² and a 240 L coolant tank. A chip auger and chip cart are standard and a chip conveyor is optional.
