How much does the Litz VH-800A cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Litz VH-800A that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Litz VH-800A is the mid-size model of the VH high-speed vertical machining centers, with 800 mm (31.5 in) of X travel, 540 mm (21.3 in) of Y and 525 mm (20.7 in) of Z. A 12,000 rpm direct-drive spindle and 60 / 60 / 30 m/min (2,362 / 2,362 / 1,181 ipm) rapids define it.
Y travel is the figure to notice. At 540 mm it is generous for an 800 mm machine, and the 950 x 520 mm (37.4 x 20.5 in) table uses it fully. Two rows of vises, or a fixture plate that is nearly square, fit without overhang. The table carries 500 kg (1,102 lb).
Litz fits an 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) spindle motor and BBT-40 tooling. Unlike the smaller VH-600A, the VH-800A takes tools up to 300 mm (11.8 in) long and can be ordered with a 30T or 32T arm type magazine in place of the standard 24T. For production work with sister tooling, that option is worth having.
Z is the shortest axis at 525 mm, with 100 to 625 mm (3.9 to 24.6 in) between spindle nose and table. Tall parts on a rotary table should be checked against that figure. The machine weighs 6,700 kg (14,771 lb), holds 355 L of coolant and runs from a 25 kVA supply. FANUC 0i-MF PLUS 3 is the listed control.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 800 mm (31.5 in), Y is 540 mm (21.3 in) and Z is 525 mm (20.7 in). The table measures 950 x 520 mm (37.4 x 20.5 in) and carries 500 kg (1,102 lb). Spindle nose to table distance is 100 to 625 mm (3.9 to 24.6 in).
02
The standard arm type magazine holds 24 tools. Litz lists 30T and 32T arm type magazines as options for this model. Tools can be up to 300 mm (11.8 in) long and 7 kg (15 lb).
03
Only in X and what follows from it. The VH-1000A has 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of X travel and a 1,150 x 520 mm table, and the VH-1000A weighs 7,000 kg where this machine weighs 6,700 kg. Y, Z, spindle, rapids and the 500 kg (1,102 lb) table load are the same.
04
The power requirement is 25 kVA and the compressed air source is 6 kg/cm². The coolant tank holds 355 L. The table surface is 970 mm (38.2 in) from the floor, which is useful when planning loading or automation.
