Litz DV-800 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Litz DV-800 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Litz or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Litz DV-800 is a 40-taper vertical machining center with 800 mm (31.5 in) of X travel, 500 mm (19.7 in) of Y and 540 mm (21.3 in) of Z, a 10,000 rpm spindle and a 24-tool arm-type changer. It is the middle size of the DV series. The DV-700 below it is limited to a 250 kg (551 lb) table load, and the DV-1000 above it stretches X to 1,020 mm (40.2 in).

The table measures 910 x 500 mm (35.8 x 19.7 in) and carries 500 kg (1,102 lb). It is longer than the X stroke, so fixtures should be laid out inside the 800 mm of travel rather than to the table ends. Spindle nose to table distance runs from 150 to 690 mm (5.9 to 27.2 in). That leaves room for a vise and a long tool, but the 150 mm minimum means a short tool will not reach a thin part clamped directly on the table.

Litz rates the spindle motor at 7.5 / 11 kW (10 / 15 HP), continuous and 30 min. For an 800 mm machine that is a moderate motor, which suits general parts work with mid-sized cutters more than heavy roughing. A 15,000 rpm spindle and coolant through the spindle are listed as options, as are roller type linear guideways and linear scales on the three axes.

Rapids are 36 / 36 / 24 m/min (1,417 / 1,417 / 945 ipm) in X, Y and Z. Tools can be up to 270 mm (10.6 in) long and 8 kg (18 lb). The standard control is the Mitsubishi M80, with FANUC 0i-MF and Siemens 828D as options. The machine weighs 5,300 kg (11,684 lb) and draws 20 kVA.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 800 x 500 x 540 mm travels with a 910 x 500 mm (35.8 x 19.7 in) table rated for 500 kg (1,102 lb)
  • Rapids of 36 / 36 / 24 m/min (1,417 / 1,417 / 945 ipm) and cutting feed up to 20,000 mm/min
  • 24-tool arm-type changer taking tools up to 270 mm (10.6 in) long and 8 kg (18 lb)
  • Control is a choice: Mitsubishi M80 as standard, FANUC 0i-MF or Siemens 828D as options
  • Spindle oil cooler, spindle air seal and a chip auger inside the machine are on the standard list

Limitations

  • Spindle motor is 7.5 / 11 kW (10 / 15 HP), which limits heavy roughing in steel
  • The 15,000 rpm spindle, coolant through the spindle and the chip conveyor are options, not part of the standard machine
  • Spindle nose never comes closer than 150 mm (5.9 in) to the table, so thin work needs risers or longer tools
  • Roller type linear guideways and linear scales are extra-cost options on all three axes

Best For

General job-shop milling of parts inside an 800 x 500 mm envelope Vise and fixture work up to 500 kg (1,102 lb) on the table Shops that want to pick between Mitsubishi, FANUC and Siemens controls

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels and table size of the Litz DV-800?

X, Y and Z travels are 800 mm (31.5 in), 500 mm (19.7 in) and 540 mm (21.3 in). The table is 910 x 500 mm (35.8 x 19.7 in) with five 18 mm T-slots and a maximum load of 500 kg (1,102 lb).

02 What spindle does the DV-800 have?

The standard spindle runs to 10,000 rpm with a BBT-40 tool shank and a 7.5 / 11 kW (10 / 15 HP) motor, continuous and 30 min rated. Litz lists a 15,000 rpm spindle and coolant through the spindle as options. A spindle oil cooler and air seal are standard.

03 Which CNC controls are available on the DV-800?

The specification table names the Mitsubishi M80 and the accessory list shows it as standard. FANUC 0i-MF and Siemens 828D are listed as options, so the control should be settled when the machine is ordered.

04 How does the DV-800 compare with the DV-1000?

The DV-1000 has 1,020 mm (40.2 in) of X, 560 mm (22.0 in) of Y and 600 mm (23.6 in) of Z against 800, 500 and 540 mm on the DV-800, and its table carries 750 kg (1,653 lb). Both use the same 10,000 rpm spindle with a 7.5 / 11 kW motor, so the choice is about part size, not cutting power.
