Overview

The Litz VC-2000A(B) is the largest VC vertical machining center, with 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of X travel and a 2,100 x 850 mm (82.7 x 33.5 in) table that carries 3,000 kg (6,614 lb). Y travel is 900 mm (35.4 in) and Z is 800 mm (31.5 in).

Three tonnes on the table is the number that matters. No other vertical in the VC or VH ranges is rated that high; the VH-2000B, with the same X travel, lists 1,500 kg. For large die shoes, press plates, machine beds and welded frames, the VC-2000A(B) is the Litz C-frame to consider.

The table is also longer than the stroke, 2,100 mm against 2,000 mm of X, so a full-length workpiece can be clamped beyond the cutting zone at both ends.

Spindle figures follow the pattern of the bracketed VC models. The first values are 10,000 rpm and BT-40 with 30 tools; the bracketed ones are 6,000 rpm and BT-50 with 24 tools. Motor rating is 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp), tool weight 15 kg (33 lb) and tool length 350 mm (13.8 in). Machine weight is given as 21,000 kg (46,296 lb), with 26,000 kg (57,319 lb) in brackets, a large gap that Litz should be asked to explain. X and Y rapids are 20 m/min (787 ipm). The coolant tank holds 550 L and supply is 42 kVA.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How much weight can the Litz VC-2000A(B) table hold?

3,000 kg (6,614 lb). The table is 2,100 x 850 mm (82.7 x 33.5 in) with T-slots listed as 7 x 18 x 100 mm, and spindle nose to table distance is 100 to 900 mm (3.9 to 35.4 in).

02 What spindle does the VC-2000A(B) use?

The table prints 10,000 rpm with BT-40 and, in brackets, 6,000 rpm with BT-50. The motor is 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp). The accessory list marks a 10,000 rpm belt spindle, BT-40 and a 30T magazine as standard, with a 40T magazine optional.

03 How heavy is the VC-2000A(B)?

The table gives 21,000 kg (46,296 lb) and, in brackets, 26,000 kg (57,319 lb). Foundation planning should use the figure Litz confirms for the configuration ordered. The supply requirement is 42 kVA.

04 How does the VC-2000A(B) compare with the VH-2000B?

Both have 2,000 x 900 x 800 mm travels. The VC-2000A(B) carries 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) and moves at 20 m/min in X and Y. The VH-2000B carries 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) and moves at 36 m/min, with an 8,000 rpm direct-drive BBT-50 spindle.
