Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford MVP-8 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford MVP-8 is the entry size of the MVP vertical machining centers: 860 mm (33.9 in) of X travel, 530 mm (20.9 in) of Y and 630 mm (24.8 in) of Z on linear guideways, with a #40 spindle. Hartford subtitles the series Plug & play.
The MVP line is where Hartford offers its fastest 40-taper direct-drive spindle. The DDS row lists 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 / 20,000 rpm, one step beyond the 15,000 rpm of the LG and S PLUS machines, and HSK A63 appears among the shank alternatives next to BT40, BBT, CAT and DIN. A pulley spindle at 8,000 / 10,000 / 12,000 rpm remains available. Spindle bearings are oil-air lubricated.
Accuracy is a selling point as well. Under its MGPS standard Hartford states positioning accuracy within 8μm and repeatability within 5μm, with spindle run-out within 5μm.
The table is 1,000 x 560 mm (39.4 x 22.0 in), slightly deeper than the Y stroke, and carries an average load of 500 kg (1,102 lb). Tools sit in a 24-pocket arm-type magazine, or a 30-pocket one, and change in a minimum of 1.38 secs. One gap in the published data: Hartford's motor row for the MVP-8 contains a misprint, so no spindle power is given here. Ask for the motor ratings when requesting a quotation.
