Overview

The Litz VH-1300A is the longest of the five smaller VH vertical machining centers, offering 1,300 mm (51.2 in) of X travel with 610 mm (24.0 in) of Y and 600 mm (23.6 in) of Z. Its table is 1,420 x 600 mm (55.9 x 23.6 in).

Think of it as a VH-1100A with a longer table. Spindle, motor ratings, rapids, Y and Z are shared between the two. The X axis gains travel, the table gains length, and machine weight goes to 7,600 kg (16,755 lb). Table load does not change: 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) on both.

That makes it a good fit for long parts that are not especially heavy, or for running two different jobs side by side on one table, each with its own work offset. With 48 m/min (1,890 ipm) rapids in X, the spindle crosses between two stations quickly enough for that to pay.

The 12,000 rpm direct-drive spindle has a 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp) motor and BBT-40 tooling. Litz also offers coolant through the ballscrews as an option, which is worth considering on an axis this long because screw growth shows up as position error at the far end of travel. Linear scales are a separate option. The coolant tank holds 460 L and supply is 35 kVA.
