How much does the Juaristi MP9-RAM cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Juaristi MP9-RAM that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Juaristi MP9-RAM is where the hydrostatic MP-RAM floor type boring centers step up to a 520 x 580 mm (20.5 x 22.8 in) RAM. It carries boring bars of 180-205-225 mm, feeds them 1,200-1,400 mm on W, and delivers 5,000-10,300 Nm (3,688-7,597 lb-ft) of spindle torque from 71/100 kW.
Add the strokes and the scale becomes clear. The RAM travels 1,600–1,800 mm and the bar up to 1,400 mm beyond it. Vertical travel starts at 3,000 mm and reaches 8,000 mm in 500 mm steps. X is 4,000 mm plus N x 2,000 mm. This is a machine for parts that are moved by crane and stay clamped for days.
The gearbox is listed with 2-3 ranges, the first size in the table to offer a third. With a speed row of 2,500–2,000 min-1 and bars up to 225 mm, an extra range is there to hold torque at low bar speeds, which is where large-diameter boring and facing heads work. Juaristi also lists a facing head of up to 2,000 mm for the series.
The MP7-RAM below shares the speed row and two of the three bar sizes but keeps the smaller RAM, and Juaristi prints no torque for it. So the MP9-RAM is the first point above the MP6-RAM where the table states torque, and at 10,300 Nm its upper figure is only a little above the 9,650 Nm of that smaller machine. The larger RAM and longer strokes, not peak torque, are what the step up buys.
Rapid feeds are 20-20-20-15 m/min.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- RAM of 520 x 580 mm with a stroke of 1,600–1,800 mm
- Boring bars of 180-205-225 mm with 1,200-1,400 mm of W travel
- Spindle torque of 5,000-10,300 Nm from 71/100 kW
- Cooled gearbox transmission listed with 2-3 ranges
- Vertical travel up to 8,000 mm
Limitations
- Upper torque of 10,300 Nm is only slightly above the 9,650 Nm listed for the smaller MP6-RAM
- Spindle speed limited to 2,500–2,000 min-1
- Rapid feeds of 20-20-20-15 m/min
- Whether a machine has 2 or 3 ranges, and which bar, is settled only in the quotation

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A 520 x 580 mm (20.5 x 22.8 in) section with a Z stroke of 1,600–1,800 mm. Juaristi describes the MP-RAM RAM as fully enclosed, made of ground cast iron and guided hydrostatically on 4 sides. The MP7-RAM below it uses a 460 x 520 mm section.
02
Spindle power is 71/100 kW (95.2/134.1 hp) and spindle torque 5,000-10,300 Nm, at a spindle speed of 2,500–2,000 min-1. The number of ranges is listed as 2-3.
03
Three diameters are listed: 180-205-225 mm (7.1-8.1-8.9 in). W travel is 1,200-1,400 mm. The table does not match bar diameters to W travel or to the number of gear ranges, so specify the bar first and ask for the data that goes with it.
04
Y goes up to 8,000 mm and X grows from 4,000 mm in 2,000 mm sections. For the workpiece side, Juaristi lists rotary tables from 1,000 x 1,000 to 5,000 x 6,000 mm with 1 or 2 CNC axes and up to 180 tonne capacity.
